One of them guys (skotsk)

Joshua McDonald. What a prospect. First time actually watching him play and have to say he’s a bright spark is this lad. Another good player coming through our ranks who I can’t wait to see get on in the future. Definitely one to watch out for 🔥 well done Leeds. First time in 27 years we’ve made it to a fa youth cup final. So proud to support this club. Now onto Saturday. All Leeds  aren’t we💙💛

87 MIN BEREN CROSS
Changes on both sides and Crew in some bother
Crew got clattered and stayed down. Asked for his team to mput the ball out, but they didn't. They played on, he tried to run it off, but really couldn't. In a lot of pain, went down as the ball went out and now taken off to be replaced by Oliver Pickles.

LANDMARK: Massive congrats to Leeds U18s, Rob Etherington and staff who have reached our first FA Youth Cup final in 27 years after beating Millwall in a 4-3 thriller at Elland Road in front of 10,493 fans.

We’ve reached our first FA Youth final since winning the trophy in 1997.

He sure is. So, with Charlie Crew popping up on the bench now, how close is he to doing what Gruev can do?

Obviously Charlie Crew plays in a similar role, perhaps even a bit more offensive orientated, but just due to his age he can't fulfil this role and do what Ilia has done. So at the age of 17 years and just with a few training sessions with the first team, you can't dictate the rhythm of a side who wants perhaps to promote back to the Premier League.
But he's definitely a really good player, full of potential, and it's no gift that he's right now in team training with us, and can present himself and we try to improve him, and it was also not a gift that he was involved in the last game day squad, and we see him as a high potential young player.
There's still a long way to go, you can't take it as granted that always a 17 year old like Archie plays day in day out, normally it never works like this, or you are more like a talent of the century. And we spoke about what Archie offers, so it would be unfair to put the same weight of expectations on Charlie Crew's shoulders, but he's an exciting young player with lots of potential.

Sorry, I realise Farke was actually trying to calm expectations down there, but all I'm reading is TALENT OF THE CENTURY.

Farke on Mateo Joseph
I like when everyone is buzzing about our players. Mateo deserves our praise, he has developed all season, but it’s important we’re not too driven by our emotions. Mateo has got one goal this season in the league, it’s not like without him we have no chance. He’s done well in cup comps, he scored the brace at Chelsea, great, important impact from the bench, this is also what we need. It’s good to have this player with this momentum because whenever he comes on at the moment he comes on with emotions and confidence, but so important to have experienced players on the pitch like Patrick who put a shift in. To have the experience and quality of Patrick available is also crucial, we play with 21 y/o Georginio, 22 y/o Cree Summerville - we need experienced players fit and available and in good shape.

Gruev is the closest to returning. Limited by pain and swelling. Not trained with the team yet. Still to be assessed before Coventry. "A little chance" he is available for Saturday. #lufc

We are still struggling with a few injury problems. All the players in the squad for the last game are available for Coventry with one exception - Jamie Shackleton. Some problems with his adductors. Out for about two weeks at least. We have a few players on the road to coming back. Ilia Gruev the closest, he’s limited by some pain and swelling, yet to train with the team yet but perhaps there’s a little chance he’s available for the game. Gnonto and Roberts they are muscle strains, they are out three weeks. They’ve only been out 9-10 days so they’re edging closer, I’m hoping they’re back a bit earlier for the Middlesbrough game.

YEP om kveldens kamp

"It's something quite ingrained in the academy, it's not necessarily something new, I think the FA Youth Cup is a good hook to talk about these things, the history of the club and the values and the people that we represent. A lot of our players are from Leeds, they grew up wanting to play for Leeds and they kind of have that opportunity.

...

"We share the same site, we're on the same training ground and in the academy canteen there's a list of every single academy player that's made it through to the first-team. They're reminded about it every single day. Archie and Charlie are the most recent examples of that."

Leeds-Live av i dag:

'Not a gift' - Leeds United cannot hold their latest wonderkid back any longer

Charlie Crew was drafted into Leeds United's senior squad for the first time over the Easter weekend and Daniel Farke has made it clear the teenager earned his inclusion with hard work on the training ground

Necessity and choice drove Daniel Farke to promote Charlie Crew into Leeds United’s senior squad for the first time over the long weekend. It was not, however, a gift from the manager: the 17-year-old earned his seat on the team bus with excellent training displays at Thorp Arch.

Crew was a surprise arrival as the squad got off the bus at Vicarage Road on Good Friday, but his presence painted a clear picture of how bruising the international break had been for the Whites. With Wilfried Gnonto, Ilia Gruev and Connor Roberts all absent from the Easter fixtures, Crew proved to be the next cab off the rank in Farke’s eyes.

The German has not been afraid to name two goalkeepers on his bench in the past when he has felt no junior outfield players have warranted promotion. Crew has though seemingly made that leap in Farke’s eyes now, after an eye-catching 12 days at Thorp Arch with the first team during the international break.

Asked if necessity or choice had compelled Farke to draft Crew into the picture, he said: “Both. To be honest, we didn't have any other outfield players available, but it was also not a gift. If Charlie hadn't impressed me in the last days in training [he would not have been selected].

“He was one of the players we promoted during this period to help us a bit in terms of numbers in training, but he also showed some quality. If he hadn’t shown this, I would have taken a third goalkeeper just in case something happened.”

Crew follows the rare example of Archie Gray, who, at only a few months older, has not only broken into Farke’s plans, but become one of the most-used players this season. Once senior faces start to recover from injury, Crew is likely to return to the under-21s, but the experience, if not playing matches, will be invaluable to the youth.

“It was not a gift, but also a sign he has done really well in recent days,” said Farke. “Obviously, it's difficult for a guy who's just 17-years-old to come into such a crucial moment.

“He was also a bit nervous, but good experience for him. I wouldn't have been nervous if I would have had to play him. Obviously, it's not perfect if you have such a situation with many key players in red-hot form, like Willy Gnonto, like Connor Roberts, like Ilia Gruev, [missing].

“It was a horrible outcome of the international break, but, overall, Charlie has done well in training and for that he deserves to be in the squad.”

Ny viktig kamp i opprykksstriden.
3-0-3 siste seks i serien.

Coventry City flyr for tiden, og ingen flyr høyere enn Ellis Simms. Superspissen scoret to nye mål da Coventry banket Huddersfield Town 3-1 på langfredag.

Men langt bedre enn foran de to foregående kampene.

Du regner med to playoff-semier og ingen finale altså? :o
