I'm not saying he's nailed on, just that the relationship between him and Monk broke down because he was a Cellino favourite and very much manoeuvring to get the job.
If Monk had stayed, he was going to be let go.
Probably said too much, but f**k it, info will dry up now Monk has left anyway.

This is interesting- could this apparent break down in Monk and Clotet's relationship have coincided with our downturn in form?
Secondly, if Clotet was manoeuvring to get the job whilst Monk was in charge, does this suggest that Clotet knew Monk would leave at the end of the season, as per @AidanRevie comments over the past week?
................................
Maybe so... I found out just prior to Wigan game that Clotet was on the out if Monk stayed.

Clotet in for the top job, on his own, no team ups with Ranieri, Beattie, A N Other.
He wants the managers job and was politicking for it when Monk was still in charge.

Was at Thorp Arch today for a junior training session (Took my godson). Word from the coaches there is they think and really hope Pep Clotet will get the job. They believe he was the reason for the vast improvement. Monk wasn't as popular within the Leeds family as fans may think. And from what they said I hope Pep gets the job.
