Ny hjemmekamp i morgen.
CAN LEEDS FINISH IN THE TOP SIX AT CHRISTMAS?
Leeds United can potentially move to third in the table and secure a play-off spot at Christmas
with a win against Brentford on Saturday
The Whites currently sit sixth in the table despite beating Reading two-nil on Tuesday night thanks to goals from Chris Wood and Soulymanne Doukara.
Wood is a doubt when the 14th placed side visit Elland Road when he was forced off due to an injury sustained during Tuesday night’s win.
Eunan O’Kane (groin) is still a doubt, as a return date for the Irish midfielder is still to be confirmed. Pablo Hernandez (hamstring) could return at the weekend but is still cassed as a doubt having been out with the injury since the 3-2 win away at Norwich.
Liam Bridcutt made his return on Tuesday night and may even look to start as United’s squad starts to look thin on the ground following a plague of injuries for Garry Monk’s side.
Brentford go into the game after winning consecutive games for only the second time this season.
The Bees won away at Bristol City on Tuesday thanks to Maxime Colin deflecting Romaine Sawyers’ second half effort to give the London side their first away win since 28 October.
Brentford have failed to gain any momentum this season as Dean Smith’s side have taken just nine points in the last month.
Saturday doesn’t promise to be a hard game but it will be a game that Monk will be fancying his sides chances.
The last time the two sides met at Elland Road was September 2015 and the game ended in a 1-1 draw when Mirco Antenucci saved Leeds’ unbeaten start to the season with a late goal.
A Leeds win will secure a Christmas Day play off spot for the first time since 2011 when the Whites sat in the same position as they are in now on 35 points from 22 games.
