Hvordan skal midtbanen brukes til å være en styrke som lagets motor:
THE ULTIMATE LEEDS UNITED 16/17 MIDFIELD INCLUDING PABLO HERNANDEZWritten by: Lee Connor
With Leeds United completing the signing of former Swansea and Valencia winger Pablo Hernandez this week, it once again gave Leeds fans reason to be cheerful as they approach this weekends season opener.
The Spanish international is a big signing for someone like Leeds United, and he will no doubt be going straight into the starting line-up as Garry Monk looks to get the best out of the pacey midfielder.
Hernandez should bring an element of creativity to the Leeds side, and might well be the difference between them being a top 10 contender and a top 6 contender.
It will be interesting to see exactly how he is incorporated into the first 11, but there is little doubting he has the quality to make an immediate impact.
Here, FLW writer Lee Connor looks at what would be the best Leeds midfield this season including Pablo Hernandez….
CM – TOUMANI DIAGOURAGAToumani Diagouraga
The big central midfielder should be a certain starter for Garry Monk’s team, with his presence and box to box style of play a real asset to any team at this level.
With Hernandez providing attacking threat, Diagouraga’s ability to break up play and use his size and strength affect the game could be a vital component in getting the best out of the new signing.
CM – LIAM BRIDCUTTBridcutt
Leeds have already signed Matt Grimes from Swansea on loan, but if Liam Bridcutt joins, as he is expected to do so, then he will be starting in the middle of the park.
A dynamic duo of Bridcutt and Diagouraga is a tantalizing prospect for Leeds fans, and one which would provide the Leeds defence with reassurance.
Bridcutt is excellent in a defensive midfield role, where he can sit in and allow players like Hernandez to go ahead and create.
RW – PABLO HERNANDEZPablo Hernandez
The new signing would fit perfectly into a system where he could be deployed as part of an attacking midfield three, drifting from wide positions to create havoc.
Hernandez has the ability to play on either wing, as well as a number 10, so would give Garry Monk real flexibility when it came to team selection.
The former Valencia man should be brillian to watch this season, and a right wing berth should suit him just nicely.
CAM – KEMAR ROOFEKemar Roofe
With Leeds having Chris Wood and Marcus Antonsson as the big target men, it might be left to Kemar Roofe to play a more deep role and drop into the famous “number 10†position.
Roofe has the ability to do this, and was in brilliant form all last season for Oxford.
The new signing could interchange brilliantly with the strikers and the wide men, and could be a real threat if deployed here.
LW – HADI SACKOHadi Sacko
Another new signing, but pacey winger Sacko might well be one of the finds of the summer by Garry Monk.
Sacko has joined on an initial loan deal and possesses blistering pace down the left hand side, while possessing the ability to switch wings and even play through the middle.
This adaptability along with that of Hernandez could cause mayhem for opposition defences if they get to grips with each others games quickly, and it could well spell goals galore for Leeds United this season if he and his fellow attacking players hit form.
Leeds fans, what do you think to this? Good midfield? No place for Mowatt or Grimes! Would they be in your midfield? Let us know in the comments!
