Lincoln could also turn to Retford United striker Neil Harvey as it is still uncertain whether Imps' striker Jamie Forrester will remain at Sincil Bank next season, despite being promised a new one-year contract. Last week, it was announced that Lincoln were offering new deals to Forrester, Ayden Duffy and Shane Clarke, but it appears that the actual contracts have yet to be offered. Forrester is wanted by at least two other unnamed clubs, with one of those thought to be Grimsby Town. (...)

Tottenham remain hopeful of finding a buyer for goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

Leeds man heading for Newcastle?
FORMER Newcastle United midfielder Alan Thompson has hung up his boots â€" paving the way for a return to St James's Park as a coach.
Thompson â€" who had been at Leeds United â€" has called time on his playing career, and is now expected to take up a post at Newcastle's Academy.
The 34-year-old, who was capped once for England against Sweden in 2004, has not played since the 1-0 win at Swindon on March 1, but was part of Gary McAllister's squad for the League One play-off final.
Thompson, who also played for Bolton Wanderers, Aston Villa and Celtic, scored 107 goals in 551 career appearances spanning 17 years.
He said: "I've had a good career but I've decided to call it a day.
"The high point was playing for England but I've got plenty of good memories.
"I'm going to take a bit of time out now but I would like to stay involved in the game."
Thompson admitted his time at Leeds was "enjoyable", but added: "I had hoped to have played more of a part, and it was disappointing to finish on a low at Wembley."

DONS STILL KEEN TO KEEP MAYBURY Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood expects Alan Maybury to make a definitive decision on his future at Pittodrie by the weekend.
The former Republic of Ireland defender had a loan spell with Aberdeen in the second half of last season, and Calderwood hopes he can be persuaded to stay.
Maybury, 29, had admitted he would "prefer" a move to an English club, however he has not ruled out signing permanent terms with Aberdeen.
He is a free agent, having been released by Leicester, and among a group of five players Calderwood is keen to recruit in the coming three weeks.
"At the moment we are working on taking in another four players plus Alan," Calderwood told the Evening Express.
"We are aware of the interest being shown in him from England but hope he will eventually choose to stay with us.
"Alan has promised to let us know within the next four days or so. If it's bad news we have alternatives, but we won't look at those until we've had the final word from Alan."

County's Football League status came under threat last season as they struggled to score goals, but manager Ian McParland believes the arrival of Forrester, 33, will go a long way to ensuring there is no repeat scenario during the 2008/09 campaign.
"I am delighted that Jamie has agreed to join us. He had the opportunity to stay at Lincoln but has chosen to come here and I am looking forward to seeing his name appear regularly on our score sheet next season," McParland told the club's official website.
"His track recod speaks for itself and it summed Jamie up last season when he scored the gaol that gave Lincoln a 1-0 win at Meadow Lane.
"We hardly saw him all night but he scored from the only chance he had and that made all the difference.
"Although he is 33 he is still a fit lad who chalks up the appearances every year and he is also a chirpy character who will be good for our dressing room."

Miller determined to stay with Sunderland
Liam Miller is determined to stay at Sunderland.
"If the club want to sell him, then that is their prerogative, but I think Liam would be more than happy to play there next season," said Miller's agent Eamon McLoughlin.
"The situation is that Liam certainly hopes he can get back playing for a first team in The Premier League next season.
"If that can be with Sunderland then Liam would be happy with that scenario, but if the club decide to sell him then we will deal with that, too.
"I know that people around the club have been happy with him and the way he has conducted himself. They know that he's a good lad and a diligent professional."

Histon land first target of the summer
Histon Football Club have landed their first target of the summer by securing the services of striker Damien Reeves. The ex Leeds United, Barnsley and Farsley Celtic striker put pen to paper for the Stutes late this week to increase Steve Fallon’s squad to 18 and give the manager the boost he was looking for as he works to bring in a further two players.
Damien Reeves spent seven years at Leeds United, three of them on professional terms. He was then dreadfully unlucky breaking his leg at a critical time which cost him his place at Leeds. After a short spell at Barnsley the player went to Farsley Celtic where he scored 23 goals in his first season and then last year in scored 20 goals â€" 2 of them against the Stutes at the Glass World Stadium when Farsley beat Histon 2 - 1.
Manager Steve Fallon was delighted to have Damien Reeves at the club and spoke of his desire to bring Damien to the Glass World Stadium ever since he scored a brace against the Stutes “The lad had a great game against us at our place and so he went into John Beck's book of possible targets for the summer and after John watched him three times during the spring we knew we had to land him. He is hungry to get back into the professional game and as such we hope that it is with Histon. Being only 22 he is a great age and will add another level of experience and desire to our team which we believe will help us towards our goal of the play offs.â€
Chairman Gareth Baldwin said “Damien comes across really well and I believe he will fit in at Histon FC, as always its not just about being a good player because the team spirit at Histon is a bit special so anyone coming in has to complement that. We have a good solid base to build on from last year so with one or two more players we believe we can look to improve on last season and hopefully get ourselves into the play offs, we know it's going to be tough as everyone keeps telling us but there is a real hunger amongst everyone at the club so if we can get our preparation right who knows what we can achieve.â€

Foxes manager decision is delayed
Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric has admitted the club might not announce their new manager until "the end of the week" after all.
Mandaric had hoped to name Ian Holloway's successor by Tuesday.
John Gregory, Simon Grayson, Paul Lambert and N Ireland manager Nigel Worthington have been linked to City.
Mandaric told the club website: "I had hoped to have someone in place by now but it looks as though the search could go on until the end of this week."
The former Portsmouth chairman is thought to have interviewed all the names on his shortlist, apart from MK Dons boss Paul Ince who he was refused permission to talk to.
The new manager will be the sixth boss at the Walkers Stadium since Mandaric took over the club.
Rob Kelly, Worthington, Martin Allen, Gary Megson and Holloway have all had spells in charge of Leicester in the last 16 months.

Kewell eager for Olympic Games chance
Leading Australian players, including captain Harry Kewell, have put their hands up to play at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
An elite team of 33 players is now in training on the New South Wales Central Coast in an attempt to secure spots in the Olyroos' final 18.
Three over-age players will be allowed in Australia's under-23 squad.
Olyroos assistant coach Ron Smith says many of the Socceroos have told him they are keen to play.
"Certainly Harry could well be in with a shout ... there has been a number (of interested players) but I won't mention any names," he said.
"A number of the senior players have said to (coach Graham Arnold) that look, you know, 'Consider me I'd be very interested', and I think that is a great sign.
"Graham has obviously spoken to one or two players to see of they are interested and so on and so far virtually everybody has said yes."

ROBINSON KEEN ON VILLA MOVE
Paul Robinson has revealed his desire to resurrect his career at Aston Villa according to sources close to the out-of-favour Tottenham goalkeeper.
Robinson's hopes of playing a part at White Hart Lane next season have further diminished with the imminent £7million capture of Heurelho Gomes from PSV Eindhoven.
Martin O'Neill is understood to be weighing up whether to make a firm move for Robinson although, contrary to reports, no bid has been made and talks have still to take place.
And Robinson believes O'Neill is the kind of manager who can bring the best out of him and help get his career back on track.
He came close to joining Villa under previous manager David O'Leary before making the switch from Leeds to Spurs four years ago.
Now the 28-year-old would jump at the chance of a move to the midlands club who finished sixth in the Barclays Premier League last season.
Robinson began last season as the England number one but lost his place to David James and similarly fell out of favour with Juande Ramos at White Hart Lane.
A source close to the player said: "Paul would welcome the opportunity to move to a club like Aston Villa.
"He believes Martin O'Neill can help to bring the best out of him. He realises his chances of playing regularly at Tottenham look unlikely.
"He feels such a move would help to resurrect his career."
O'Neill has also checked on Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc and Wolves stopper Wayne Hennessey but Robinson is looking likely to be his preferred choice at around £5million.
O'Neill has to strengthen in that department after Thomas Sorensen's contract was not extended and
Scott Carson returned to Liverpool after a season-long loan.

Former Leeds & Aston Villa Boss David O'Leary Urges Spurs' Paul Robinson To Transfer To Villa
Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa Premiership Transfer News Former Leeds United and Aston Villa boss David O’Leary has advised Tottenham keeper Paul Robinson that staying with Spurs would no longer be profitable for him and he should move to Aston Villa at this point of his career.
The duo were together during O’Leary’s time at Leeds, and Robinson's ex-boss feels that he knows the former England keeper pretty well and thinks that a move to Villa Park would suit him best.

Sherriff - Shrewsbury switch.
SHREWS SNAP UP SHERRIFF
Shrewsbury have signed utility player Shane Sherriff on a free transfer from League One outfit Tranmere.
The 25-year-old left-sided player has penned a two-year deal with Paul Simpson's side following his departure from Prenton Park.
Simpson told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to have got Shane to come to the club.
"He's a player whose career I've followed since I got into management and I think he is a quality footballer.
"He's at a good age in his mid 20's, is a fit lad, a good athlete, he's a left sided player and my thoughts are he's a left sided centre-half but he is equally comfortable at left-back or left midfield. When you can get a lefty who can play in a number of positions they are worth their weight in gold." (PA)

A refreshed
James Milner is confident of a big season for Newcastle United.
Milner has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Aston Villa this summer, but Newcastle insist he is not for sale.
And looking ahead to a fresh start next term, he said: "It's the first time since I've been a player that I've had a summer off.
"A long summer break is nice. Last season was a long one, and obviously with the European Champion-ships for the Under-21s, it has been a long couple of years. It's been good to chill out for a couple of weeks - but I hope to come back flying."

Harte on two-week trial at Wolves

Ian Harte won the bulk of his 64 caps under Mick McCarthy
Ian Harte is determined to use his two-week training stint at Molineux to impress Wolves boss Mick McCarthy enough to win a contract.
Harte, 30, is a free agent after leaving Sunderland at the end of last season and the former Leeds defender is hoping his time with Wolves goes well.
"I'm here for two weeks and hopefully I can impress and we'll see what happens," Harte told the club's website
"I feel good. I believe I've got plenty more to offer but that's up to Mick."
Harte, who won 64 caps for the Republic of Ireland, knows the Wolves boss well from their time together when McCarthy was in charge of the Irish team and he is looking forward to resuming their working relationship.
"He gave me around 50 of my caps and that was at a time when I was playing more for my country than my club," Harte said.
"I respect him highly and he knows how to get the best out of me."
Harte will be involved in Wolves' pre-season programme, their next game being at Hereford on Wednesday night.
The club have also confirmed that they are still in discussion with veteran left-side operator Michael Gray, who is 34 in August and 22-year-old midfielder Daniel Jones.

Tore Andre Flo On Trial
(http://www.mkd.vitalfootball.co.uk/resource/teams/leeds/315_b.jpg)
Tore Andre Flo, the former Chelsea & Leeds United striker, has been on trial with the Dons for the past week, Vital Dons understands.
Flo, 35, made 169 appearances for Chelsea, appearing alongside new Dons' manager Roberto Di Matteo at the club, and bagged 50 goals.
He moved to Rangers for £12m in November 2000, where he scored 29 goals in 53 appearances in the SPL, before moving back to the Premier League with Sunderland.
There he scored just four times in 29 games, before moving to Italian side Siena. He quickly became a hit as his new club established themselves in Serie A over two seasons. He was an ever-present in his first season in Italy, bagging eight goals, and five from 17 starts in 2004/05.
Flo also has previous when it comes to linking up again with former team-mates who have since become club managers. He joined former Chelsea pal Dennis Wise at Leeds United in January 2007, where he scored four times in 23 games. However, on 11th March 2008 he announced his retirement from the game.
It appears that Di Matteo may have convinced the Norwegian to give it one last hurrah in English football, as the striker has been training with the first-team for the past week. He was also recently spotted at the club's training ground in Woughton.
It seems Di Matteo will assess the striker's fitness levels before deciding whether to offer him some kind of formal deal at the club.

Stack completes Plymouth switch
Plymouth Argyle have completed the signing of former Republic of Ireland Under-21 goalkeeper Graham Stack on a two-year deal.
Stack, 26, who was a free agent, had been training with the Pilgrims during their pre-season programme.
The ex-Arsenal trainee was available after Reading released him this summer.
"Graham is a Premiership and Championship goalkeeper. He's seen it, done it, and got the T-shirt," boss Paul Sturrock told the club's website.
Roman Larrieu had been the only senior keeper in Argyle's squad after Luke McCormick was suspended while he awaits trial following a fatal driving accident.
Stack played twice in the Championship for Wolves last season while on loan, and has also had spells at Beveren, Millwall and Leeds.
He never made a league appearance for the Gunners, but started five League Cup ties.

Joachim Makes Surprise Move To Kings Lynn
(http://images.rivals.net/08/04/460x238/joachim_head_770799.jpg)
The departure of Julian Joachim from Darlington surprise some fans last month, but what will surprise some even more is that he has signed for a non league club.
The 33 year old's contract runs out on July 1st and he has agreed a two year deal with the Blue Square South league side.
After signing for Darlington for a record £100k Joachim failed to live up to expectations. But after reverting to the wing last season his performances improved. It was though that Joachim was released due to financial reasons but maybe Penney didn't rate him or more likely Joachim wanted to move away from the area. Who knoes but good luck to him anyway.

CANTONA REVEALS MANAGERIAL AIM
Eric Cantona has set his sights on becoming the greatest manager in the world.
The former Manchester United forward is currently the coach of France's beach soccer team but has plans to return to the conventional form of the game in future.
He revealed last month that he would only consider two jobs in management - with Manchester United or the England national side.
Cantona still has ambitions in football and he does not believe there is any point in settling for second best.
"I am very passionate about beach soccer, and my acting career," the Frenchman told L'Equipe.

(....) It appears that Di Matteo may have convinced the Norwegian to give it one last hurrah in English football, as the striker has been training with the first-team for the past week. He was also recently spotted at the club's training ground in Woughton.
It seems Di Matteo will assess the striker's fitness levels before deciding whether to offer him some kind of formal deal at the club.
Flo No-ShowFormer Chelsea & Leeds United striker Tore Andre Flo has been released by the club after a brief trial, Vital Dons understands.
Flo was given a chance to impress new manager, and former Chelsea team-mate, Roberto Di Matteo, during a string of training sessions at Woughton last week. However, Flo is believed to have left without impressing the coaching staff.
He didn't even secure an opportunity to shine yesterday when the Dons took on Reading in their first pre-season friendly. Fellow trialists Florian Sturm and Dean Morgan did feature.
Flo, however, was in action for Chelsea at the London Masters, where his side, former regional champions for the last five years, crashed out early on.
The former Norwegian international was in demand by the Vital readership, after our poll results showed he would be a popular signing.
We asked, 'Tore Andre Flo...Yes Please Or No Thanks?' and a hefty 75% said they would like to see the striker in action for the club.
However, it seems Di Matteo was in the minority of 25% who felt his services were not needed. Morgan, a fellow striker, also failed to impress when introduced yesterday, which still leaves Di Matteo with a striker headache ahead of the new campaign.
