Leeds 'Marching On' Underhill

Barnet welcome Leeds United to Underhill on Saturday afternoon in a friendly match which was arranged as part of the deal which took Tresor Kandol to Elland Road in late 2006.
Leeds are expected to have a large following, which has been backed up by the club's decision to segregate the match.
The away fans will have the whole of the East Terrace to mill around on, while us homies will be housed in the Main and South stands.
Barnet should be at full strength with Joe Devera and Ashley Carew back in the fold after being rested in midweek. New signing Nicky Deverdics will hopefully make his home debut for the Bees, most likely from the bench, as Paul Fairclough keeps his first XI from the Arsenal game intact.
Leeds are bringing their full first team squad which should include Tresor Kandol, but we will not be 'graced'? with the presence of one Anthony Elding who has signed for Crewe today.

Match preview: Barnet v Leeds United

As he approaches his fifth season as manager of Barnet, the volatile nature of employment in football seems ever more ridiculous to Paul Fairclough.
Appointed in March of 2004 by a club in exile from the Football League, Fairclough was amazed to discover that four years in his post was enough to rank him among England's top 10 longest-serving managers.
Leeds United's John McGovern talks about Brian Clough era: Click here for full interview.
The 58-year-old Liverpudlian is a personality about whom the majority of English supporters may know little but his reign at Underhill placed him among stellar company.
At present, Fairclough is ninth in the League Managers Association's roll of long-staying coaches, behind a select group which includes Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Steve Coppell and David Moyes. Beneath the Premier League, only four managers have been tied to their respective clubs for longer than him.
It is, Fairclough suggests, a "shocking indictment" of the chop-and-change mentality of so many clubs.
Barnet host Leeds United at Underhill tomorrow and as Gary McAllister begins the fortnight leading up to his first full season as United's manager, Fairclough is unlikely agree with anyone who argues that Leeds promotion should be a foregone conclusion next term.
McAllister took charge of 20 of United's matches last term and came agonisingly close to grasping a place in the Championship, but it would still be fair to describe the Scot as relatively new to his current position.
Taken on by Leeds at the end of January, tomorrow's friendly marks six months since his appointment at Elland Road, a period of time that Fairclough would probably describe as an introduction.
Barnet's manager is firmly installed on the side of the fence from which it is argued that pressure placed on professional managers is often detrimental to the success of their clubs.
"I'm coming up to my fifth season at Barnet, and I was astonished to find that I was one of the 10 longest-serving managers last season," Fairclough said.
"That's a shocking indictment of our profession, and managers in this country come under pressure too quickly and too easily.
"At Barnet, I've been given time to lay down my own plans and put my own systems in place, and as far as I'm concerned we're improving year-on-year.
"In my first full season we were promoted back to the Football League, and then we finished 8th.
"Last season, we were in the top half of League Two. It's steady progress and I feel I'm able to do that because Barnet take a realistic approach to football.
"If a manager feels under huge pressure, they're never going to plan for the future.
"They'll spend the money they've got as soon as they get it and work in the here and now.
"That's not good for a club and it's not particularly good for the game to have so many managerial changes every year.
"Every season, most clubs set out looking for promotion. Not everyone can get it.
"To simply say that the blame should fall on a manager is wrong, and I don't agree with that at all. Managers need time and they need patience, whichever club they're at."
Leeds were not guilty of a managerial sacking last season â€" the departure of Dennis Wise from the role in January was solely his decision, and a surprising one at that â€" and though McAllister was instructed by Ken Bates to secure a place in the Championship in May, his job did not hinge on it.
On the contrary, Bates tied him to a new contract in April, almost two months before the end of the season.
McAllister, however, will have no inclination to set his sights beneath promotion next term after United's defeat in the League One play-off final, and his preparation is nearing a climax with the new season two weeks away.
Leeds flew back to England from the Republic of Ireland yesterday, and having encountered three fit and capable clubs in Eire, Fairclough is promising a high calibre of opposition at Underhill tomorrow.
United's visit is the second major friendly organised by Barnet, who lost 2-1 at home to a strong Arsenal line-up on Sunday.
Fairclough said: "We wanted to arrange some tough friendlies, and the game against Arsenal pleased me immensely.
"We contained them for a long time and it was good to see my players looking organised.
"Without the substitutions we might have gone on to win the game but you have to stick to your guns in pre-season.
"We can't push the players too far too soon, and I don't doubt that Gary McAllister's attitude is the same.
"He's not someone I know personally but he's someone I admired greatly when he was a player, and he comes across as a gentleman whenever I see him on the television.
"But more importantly he's got a lot of talent in his squad, and this is another game that I want us to make the most of.
"I'm hoping for quite a big crowd because Leeds are very well supported in London.
"Towards the end of last season we were travelling up north from an away game, and Leeds must have had a big home match that day because almost every bus we passed on the motorway seemed to be full of their fans.
“It would be nice to see a few of them at Underhill.”
Tomorrow’s friendly is the result of an agreement reached during the negotiations which took striker Tresor Kandol from Barnet to Leeds at the start of last year’s January transfer window.
Barnet raised a six-figure sum by selling Kandol and worked a friendly against Leeds into the bargain, and around £250,000 was added to their coffers last month by the sale of Jason Puncheon â€" a one-time target of United’s â€" to Plymouth Argyle.
Fairclough’s squad could hardly be described as bloated, but it is not in his nature to deny players opportunities which he believes they are ready to accept.
“My philosophy has always been that if a player is ready to move on and the money is right then we’ll do a deal,” said Fairclough.
“If I feel that a player hasn’t quite got the footballing education he needs, or if a club is trying to get him on the cheap, then we’ll say no.
“But we weren’t going to stop Tresor going to Leeds, and we took the same view with Jason Puncheon.
“It obviously affects you when talented guys move on but football has always been like that.
“It’s up to a manager to find replacements.
“It’s not always easy but it helps if people view the situation realistically and with a bit of patience.”

Spennende spiller og Leeds United-legende in the making (får vi håpe)

1-0 til pause. Decent first half sier kommentatorene. Har bare hørt de siste par minuttene av omgangen. Spennende med Delph fra start.

auren, som tipper 2-0 til Leeds.

Leeds bytter litt: Hunts ut for Michalik. Luciano ut for Gardner. Showunmi ut for Haber. Tidligere i omgangen har Telfer kommet inn for Frazer.
