Denne gang var det Bates og Staunton i tillegg til Peter som satt i panelet.

Bates virker av og til noko arrogant i sine svar, men har også ein god humor innbakt.
Syntes han på mange måter svarte godt for seg på spørsmål om økonomi og ambisjoner.

Peter virket litt småbedugga og ved ein anledning klarte han å slå over pinten utover bordet.

Leeds United: Patrons revel in turning tide - Lorimer

I’ve held regular Lorimer’s Bar events at Elland Road this season and not all of them have been jovial affairs.



More often than not they ebb and flow with the season. If Leeds United are struggling then Lorimer’s Bar can be quite downbeat and a little bit negative. But Monday’s gathering was a sign of the times â€" positive and light-hearted. I felt a buzz amongst the audience and a renewed sense of confidence in the players who attended.

You could attribute that to three straight wins, and the improvement in United’s results has obviously helped. But I think the reasons for growing optimism go deeper than that.

The changes have been bigger than that. The combination of the takeover, the recent loan signings and a run of good performances has convinced everyone that Leeds have turned the corner.

There are times when a football club needs more than just a few decent wins. We were in that position before the takeover went through. It was all anyone asked about and all anyone seemed to care about.

Needless to say, there weren’t too many questions about the takeover on Monday night. We’re all still waiting to discover exactly what the new owners plan to do but for the time being I think most fans are simply pleased that the doubt’s been lifted. We’re all free to talk about football again and I can’t say I’m sad about that.

On the football side, things are looking good. The team are playing well and playing with self-belief. I was really impressed by the way the players reacted to the penalty they conceded at the end of the first half at Huddersfield last Saturday. A few weeks ago I’d have worried about the walls caving in but Leeds came out and played Huddersfield off the park. It was a joy to watch.

It was funny as well to find myself thinking that our squad looked pretty strong. We’ve all voiced concerns about the resources at Neil Warnock’s disposal but it’s amazing what a couple of signings and a few players returning from injury and suspension can do. The line-up was very solid and so was the bench, and that’s without Rodolph Austin and Luke Varney.

Slowly but surely, the team is beginning to resemble what I believe would be Neil’s idea of his strongest side. It’s perfectly obvious that Ross McCormack was key to his plans this season and the injury suffered by Ross in September was a big setback. But I don’t doubt either that David Norris and Paul Green were seen as important cogs in the machine and they’re finally coming into their own. If they stay fit they’ll be big players in the second half of the term.

And if this form continues, United are going to be right in the running when they reach the halfway stage after Middlesbrough on December 22. That’s the Championship for you â€" win a few matches and you’re back in contention.

The advantage for Leeds is that they’re back in contention at a time when they’re also growing in strength and hopefully ready to invest in January. It’s dangerous, I know, but I’ll go to Derby on Saturday expecting a win â€" and I really can’t remember the last time I felt like that.

BMD had a physiologist at Reading. They took him on a 10 day pre season tour. He had to go home after 9 days. He couldn't cope

Chris Dawson didn't have a pre season. He has to wait. Still has 2 and half years left

Asked about taking the job here, BMD says "I had a gut feeling it was right...Neil Redfearn said 'you've got to come

Neil Redfearn told BMD to come to #lufc - he wanted Redders to stay in charge till the summer but Redders said no

BMD loves Slovenia. It's a simple places. Easy to get to and cheap

Kick off times don't effect the preparation of games, On the Boxing Day trip to Blackpool, BMD says the team will be travelling over at 5.30pm on Xmas day and will prepare as usual

On the biggest influence of his career, BMD says "Terry Cooper. He was my manager at Exeter. We talk every night.

BMD says he might look to bring a goal keeper in in January. Incase anything happens to Paddy


BMD "We have to find players of our own and work with them." BMD "You need a top scout who others work off. You have to know people who know players. We haven't had that here


On the absence of the pre-match wave, BMD says "We lost 2 games. I'm not superstitious but the lads are, and we've won since."

The players run round with GPS and heart monitors in training. They also use prozone; BMD says players are monitored by GPS in training to see how far they have run. On a matchday, Prozone measures the players.


Things needed to change after Derby away; On the loss at Derby, BMD says "I was cross at half-time and afterwards. We had to change things, and we had to find a way."

Peter Lorimer says he was with Gordon Strachan last night who "wished you all the best. He still thinks about us." Lorimer was with Strachan in Dundee last night and he wanted to wish everyone at #lufc all the best

BMD - do what you have to do to get a result

BMD doesn't always hear what the fans are singing but is very much aware of it

The players are doing everything they can. Stay with us

If a players asks BMD to let him leave. He will. If you don't want to play for us. Go - On keeping his best players BMD says "I have a philosophy that if a player wants to leave and doesn't want to play for me, he can go."

BMD says the best player he played with was Liam Brady and against were Graeme Souness and Kenny Dalglish.

Asked about El-Hadji Diouf, BMD says "It's very difficult to select him because he's been away in Senegal. He's had some issues." "He's been to two funerals which I respect, but he hasn't trained and it isn't fair on other players to play him
