York City assistant manager Neil Redfearn is to join Leeds United's Academy and will take over as U-18 boss in the New Year.
In a restructuring of the Academy set-up, current U-18s coach Daral Pugh will revert to a role as assistant academy manager, working with youngsters at the club aged from nine to 16.
Dewsbury-born Redfearn, 43, has a wealth of experience, having played over 1,000 league games for a host of clubs, including Barnsley, Oldham, Charlton, Crystal Palace, and Watford.
Only last month, Redfearn was elevated to no.2 at York under recently-appointed Minsterman boss Martin Foyle after previously serving as youth coach at KitKat Crescent.
Redfearn's final appointment with the Minstermen will be in the New Year's Day Blue Square home clash with Burton and he starts his role with United on Friday.
Academy manager Neil Thompson said: "We've been looking at things and have restructured slightly.
"Daral will have a wider role in his role with all ages from under-nine to under-16 while Neil joins us to take over the under-18s."
