Ligacupen og tøff bortekamp mot Doncaster på tirsdag, ønsker at vi stiller med et sterkt, men ungt mannskap. Uten det alt for store B-preget.
Kenny
Thompson - Lees -Wootton -White
-----------------Rudy
----Lenighan-------- Dawson
------------Mowatt
Smith ------- Poleon
Ashdown
Peltier - Wooton - Lees - White
Brown - Austin - Tonge
Varney - Smith - Poleon
Tipper at Dawson får sjansen i denne kampen.

United: Cairns, Byram (Coyle 46), Coker, Taylor, Pugh, Thompson, Lenighan, Norris, Dawson (Phillips 63), Parkin (Denton 78), Walters. -

LEEDS UNITED AND ASTON VILLA FEATURE IN CAPITAL ONE CUP TOP STATS
European involvement means that the majority of the big guns do not enter the Capital One Cup until the third round, but there are still plenty of matches among the second-round action to get involved in.
The King Of Stats has ruled his beady eye over the 25 fixtures and come up with seven possible money-making angles.
4 â€" Barnsley have not only failed to score in four successive meetings with Southampton, but they have not troubled the scorers in any of their last four home games in this competition. A Southampton clean sheet at Oakwell is 29/20.
11 â€" Only once in their last 11 meetings with Leyton Orient have Hull managed to score more than once in the 90 minutes. Meanwhile, they have only scored two or more in two of their last 12 competitive fixtures dating back to last season. Hull are 7/10 to score under 1.5 goals at Orient here.
3 â€" Accrington Stanley have never previously gone beyond the second round of the League Cup, with this round proving their exit point on three occasions previously. The suspension of striker Danny Webber for the clash with Cardiff will not help their case either and Cardiff must be backed at 1/2 to beat League Two's bottom club.
7 â€" West Brom have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last seven League Cup fixtures and goalkeeper Ben Foster is missing with an ankle injury. Newport to score at the Hawthorns can be backed at 3/4.
4 â€" Brentford may not have won an away game in the competition since 1997, but their chances are boosted here by the fact that Derby have been dumped out by lower-league opposition in each of the last four seasons. Brentford are 7/4 to qualify for round three.
4 â€" Leeds are on a four-match winning streak against Doncaster and have scored an impressive 13 goals in the process. The Total Result market appeals here with 31/10 the price for another Leeds triumph in a game that sees over 2.5 goals scored.
17 â€" This is the number of days Aston Villa are without a game for between their League Cup clash at home to Rotherham and their next Premier League fixture with Newcastle. Paul Lambert can be expected to name his strongest team as he has no reason to rest players so Villa look fairly-priced at 1/3 to beat Rotherham.

Doncaster Awaydaze Tuesday, 27th Aug 2013 13:48 by Tim Whelan
This season we’re lucky enough to be visiting Doncaster Rovers shiny new Keepmoat stadium twice, and tonight’s League Cup tie kicks off at 7.45. Rovers’ new home at the Keepmoat Stadium is about two miles south of Doncaster town centre. If you’re driving down from Leeds you need to leave the A1(M) at Junction 35, to join the M18 Eastbound. Once on the M18, leave at Junction 3 and take the A6182 towards Doncaster (the stadium is well signposted from Junction 3 and is about one and a half miles away). You will pass a retail park on your left and then at the next island (which has the Lakeside Pub visible behind it) turn left onto White Rose Way. The Lakeside Shopping Centre is now on your right (the stadium is located directly behind the shopping centre). At the next island turn right onto the industrial estate and after passing the Tesco distribution centre on your right, turn right at the bottom of the road and the stadium is further down on your left.
Surprisingly for a stadium towards the edge of town, there isn’t much parking available. There are just 1,000 spaces at the stadium, (costing £5) which is inadequate for big games like this. According to the stadium website “to comply with the Green Travel Plan national environmental initiative, the Keepmoat Stadium will encourage the allocation of all parking spaces to multi-occupancy vehicles carrying three or more peopleâ€. A number of firms on the nearby industrial park offer matchday parking at around £3-£4, and there is a limited amount of street parking in the area. Otherwise, there is a ‘Park and Walk’ service from the club’s former car park at Belle Vue, with Yellow signs to show you the way from there to the Stadium. It’s about 25-30 minutes walk from the railway station, so the best option is to take the matchday bus service from the nearby Doncaster Interchange bus station, which is under the Frenchgate Shopping Centre. This is Route 75X and runs every 10 minutes direct to the Stadium, leaving Stand C6 and taking about 10 minutes. The bus stops in a lay-by at the Ground close to the Ticket Office and the return service after the match leaves from the same place. And all of this costs £1.10 each way. There are trains back to Leeds after the game at 22.22, 22.36 and 23.32.
I don’t think there’s much point in me recommending any pubs for this game, as the police might again insist on a blanket booze ban, as they have done in the past. Before our first visit to the Keepmoat they said “we strongly believe it is the right thing to do for a derby match where emotions may well be running high.†They also promised that "Substantial police resources" would be deployed in Doncaster, and there will also be a large British Transport Police presence at the railway station. "South Yorkshire Police will be on hand to deal with anyone who may attempt to disrupt the peace."
Doncaster played their first game at the Keepmoat in January 2007, after leaving nearby Belle Vue, their home for the previous 84 years. The old ground had character but was getting a bit ramshackle for modern standards, not least because one of their former Chairmen once tried to set fire to it! The Keepmoat stadium cost £21m to build and is also home to Doncaster Lakers Rugby League team as well as ladies football team Doncaster Belles. The stadium complex was built by, and is owned by, Doncaster Council. The Keepmoat’s capacity is 15,231, and as with all the other identikit new stadia it provides good facilities but is completely lacking in character. The bigger visiting clubs (yep, that’s us) usually get the whole of the North End of the ground, which is a total allocation of 3,344 seats, but they must have given us an extra block, because tonight we have 4,100 tickets in total. There are still tickets on sale tonight, but you’ll have to take either a season ticket or membership card in order to buy one. The view of the playing action and the leg room are good in this stand, but fans are set well back from the pitch due to the tarmac track which surrounds it. There is plenty of room on the concourse and the food is quite good by football standards. You can get Pies, pasties and ‘vegetarian Pizza Pods’ (whatever they are) as well as the usual Burgers and Hot Dogs. Ticket prices for away fans are £20 for adults, with concessions at £15, under 21s £11, under 16s £8 and under 11s £5.

Home from home? Doncaster Preview Tuesday, 27th Aug 2013 14:12
Although the League Cup draw provided us with a rare away trip, one can hardly call it an inconvenience as we are down the road at Doncaster for tonight's second round clash KO 7:45pm.
Given Doncaster's MP and Leader of the Opposition Ed Milliband is a self-confessed Leeds fan and the fact that we have been allocated just over 4000 tickets with sales to us available on the night, we could be forgiven in thinking it will be something of a home from home at the Keepmoat tonight and hopefully we will continue our excellent run against our neighbours from down the A1.
Two years ago, two Ramon Nunez strikes on this ground took us through to round three and in October that year, we eased to a 3-0 win in the league fixture, much talked about man-of-the-moment Ross McCormack scoring a sensational overhead strike.
One of the big questions is will McCormack start against the club he played for briefly on loan? Despite speculation linking him with Middlesbrough going off the boil somewhat, it will be inevitable that the mischief makers will read more from the team-sheet alone of McCormack fails to start. My hunch is McCormack will warm the bench, for insurance purposes, by this I mean he will be used only if we are struggling like in round one against Chesterfield.
As well as confirming new-boy Scott Wootton will make his full debut, Brian McDermott has hinted El Hadji Diouf will be involved and I wouldn't be surprised to see him start. I think Dioufy will get a rough ride from the locals given his decision last year to walk away from the Keepmoat and join us. My belief is we will see Zac Thompson involved again, as well as Michael Brown and Adam Drury. I'm going for Jason Pearce partnering Wootton in the central defence with Dominic Poleon up front.
For the visitors, Paul Keegan will be cursing the absurditities of the bizarre Football League rule book. Doncaster's visit to Charlton last Saturday was of course abandoned due to freakish weather in south London with Rovers leading 3-1. Obviously the result is chalked off but Keegan's red card still stands so he will be out of the side managed by one-time Leeds forward Paul Dickov.
Doncaster have made an encouraging start to life back in the Championship, but Leeds certainly have the Indian sign over their local rivals, you have to go back to the League One play-off final in 2008 for the last time the Reds beat the Whites. However I think like against Chesterfield we will narrowly slip through to the next round with a 2-1 win like last time. -

Topp stemning!

As with all midweek games it required a mad dash from work to ensure we didn't miss the next instalment of Leeds United's 2013/14 campaign. The late afternoon stress wasn't necessary though as the Happy Chocker, Brother Chris and the Quiet One all arrived in good time for a pre match drink at the Park Inn which is a short skip and a jump from the stadium. Brian McD had indicated he would be making 5 changes with Wootton making his debut. Would it be Lees or Pearce who steps down though? Who else would get a run? We tried to 2nd guess our leader's thoughts as the hotel filled with football fans.
Nearly 4,000 fans had made the short trip to Doncaster for this Capital One Cup 2nd round game and they were in good voice as the game kicked off. Mowatt, Poleon, Smith and Drury joined Wootton as changes from Saturday's starting eleven with Hall, Brown, Hunt, Diouf, Murphy, White and Ashdown on the bench. Lees made way for Wootton. Warnock, Norris and Varney didn't travel.
Donny started the better with our old adversary Richie Wellens pulling the home side's strings from midfield. Once again Leeds seemed slow to start and could have been one down in the first ten minutes but for some wayward finishing and a superb goal line clearance from debutant Wootton. Were Leeds sticking to their usual game plan this season, let them score first and then knock two goals in? Leeds did gradually get a foothold in the game as young Mowatt drew purrs of delight from the travelling hordes as he stroked the ball about with ease. Clearly he has a lot of talent something that Brian McD has clearly recognised by drafting him into the first team set up. I wonder if Mr Warnock would have done the same? I think we all know the answer to that!
Leeds patient approach play started to pay dividends as chances were crafted through intelligent play rather than brawn. Mowatt broke and released Ross Mac who hit a screamer over the bar. Peltier and Tonge combined well down the right but Smith could only direct a soft header into Turnbull's arms in the home goal before Ross Mac missed a golden opportunity to break the deadlock when he blazed over from 15 yards. Chances continued to flow though and Ross Mac's next chance saw his shot fizz past the post. Mowatt added a touch on naive class to the Leeds midfield as he and Drury stuck up an instant understanding on the left flank. At the other end Kenny had to be alert to keep out a couple of half chances but in front of him Pearce and Wootton were getting to grips with the threat from Robinson and Brown. As befitting of a Yorkshire derby there were some meaty challenges dished out from both sides. Pearce picked up a yellow for a crunching tackle where he seemed to take the ball while Wellens seemed to have licence to hold players off with his elbow. Both sides were playing open football and surely it was only a matter of time before the deadlock would be broken. Smith was battling well with the giant Jones in the home defence whilst Poleon was testing one time Leeds target, Wabara, with his pacey runs.
Just as half time approached the Leeds pressure paid off. Once again Drury and Mowatt linked well down the flank before the young debutant swung in a vicious cross deep to the Donny back post.....Smith rose magnificently to head back into the box where Wootton sent the travelling fans into raptures by scoring on his debut. 1.0 Leeds. No more than they deserved. Confidence was now oozing from every Leeds move and right through the team. Poleon once again left Wabara for dead but couldn't finish. HT 1.0 Leeds and 4,000 very happy Leeds fans applauded their team off. On the evidence of the first 45 minutes we were well on the way to stretching our unbeaten start to the season to 6 games. As the Happy Chocker commented "you wouldn't have thought that after the Walsall pre season friendly"
Leeds continued to turn the screw in the 2nd half with Ross Mac, Austin, Mowatt, Smith and Poleon to the fore whilst the back four looked rock solid. Ross Mac had a chance to kill the tie as Mowatt released him but Turnbull got down well to his goalbound shot. Leeds were well on top and both Poleon and then Smith spurned chances to take the tie away from the South Yorkshiremen. On the hour ex Leeds man Billy Paynter came off the bench for Doncaster. "He's nailed on to score" I commented. That despite the fact that when he wore a Leeds shirt I thought the exact opposite. So as if to prove the taunting Leeds fans wrong he did just that with only his third touch. A cross from the left fizzed into the box and Billy was on it like a flash and thumped a header past the motionless Kenny. Unbelievable. It must have been the Leeds shirt that stopped him scoring for us! 1.1. Buoyed by the goal and the home fans noise Donny then had a purple patch as they went for the win. Leeds started to rock as substitute Duffy found space in the middle of the
park.
The stadium was now rocking as the game swung from end to end. Smith brought a spectacular save from Turnbull with a swivelling volley from inside the box as Leeds recovered from the equaliser. On 74 minutes the tiring Mowatt was replaced by Murphy and received a thunderous ovation from the appreciative travelling fans. What a debut for the lad! Murphy made an immediate impact as he added fresh legs and a touch of composure to the Leeds midfield. On 77 minutes he picked up a nothing ball in the centre of the park and spread it wide to Peltier who advanced towards the box using Ross Mac as a foil before swinging a sweet cross into the Rovers box where Smith rose above the crowd and smashed a header past Turnbull. Get innnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! 2.1 Leeds and the Leeds fans were delirious. Leeds now went for the kill as Donny pushed for an equaliser as they calmly moved the ball around the pitch looking for a chink in the home defence. Poleon ran at Wabara for the umpteenth time teasing him into dragging him down inside the box......PENALTY. Ross Mac stepped up and despatched the ball past the giant Turnbull. 3.1 and game over. "That's how you win 3.1" the Leeds fans taunted Doncaster after their abandoned match on Saturday.
Leeds played out the remaining time with a swagger. The referee blew for time and signalled Leeds passage into the third round. 6 games undefeated and some real good football to boot. Not sure we're allowed this luxury supporting Leeds are we? Lots of smiling faces from the Leeds fans as we streamed away from the ground. How good did that feel? Brian McD will have a selection headache for the QPR game after this performance. Wootton had an excellent debut whilst Mowatt was a revelation in midfield. Up front Smith and Poleon were a constant threat whilst Drury didn't put a foot wrong at left back. Ross Mac just gets better with each game. Man of the match? For me a toss up between Mowatt and Smith.
Suddenly there is a real buzz about the club. It's early days but the green shoots of recovery are starting to blossom under Brian McD's leadership. QPR up next with 'Arry and his expensive team of contenders. If we are still unbeaten by 3pm Saturday the 7 nation army beat of "Ohhh Brian McDermott" will be on everybody's lips as Leeds march on. Delicious!
