TEENAGE Scots ace Martin Woods is desperate to become a Premiership star at Sunderland and prove a point to Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell.
The midfielder played only twice under Blackwell last season but has been rescued from the Elland Road reserves by Black Cats gaffer Mick McCarthy.
The 19-year-old scored on his Sunderland debut against Seattle on the club's US tour last week and hopes to become a regular in McCarthy's side.
He said: 'The Premiership is a step up but I have faith in my ability. I'm building myself up because a lot of the top-flight players will be stronger than me'I never got on with Kevin Blackwell and that went against me. I didn't get a fair crack of the whip.
'But Mick McCarthy seems like a fair guy and what you see is what you get.
'He is bringing in young, fit British players who are ambitious and I will get my chance'
Om ikke annet var det i hvert fall en veldig festelig overskrift.
Forever Leeds
