THE WHITES
There is no doubt at all that Leeds United's players are feeling the pressure of a situation which is rapidly running out of control. Monday night's loss to Millwall showed a worrying lack of confidence and their three-point lead over Kenny Jackett's side is no protection at all with a visit to Carrow Road their next appointment.
VERDICT: Under fire
NORWICH CITY
Proved that they are human with an injury-time concession at Swindon Town on Saturday but it will take more than a minor stumbles to expose them to the chasing pack. Norwich have had the look of champions for some time and will almost certainly lift the title if they beat Leeds United.
VERDICT: Looking untouchable
SWINDON TOWN
Danny Wilson's side recovered from two poor results at the start of this month to regain ground on Leeds United, and a
1-1 draw with Norwich last weekend sealed a valuable point which was not exactly deserved. Still in with a chance but much would seem to rest on their visit to Elland Road on April 3.
VERDICT: Hanging in there
CHARLTON ATHLETIC
Phil Parkinson's Addicks are still in contention for a top-two finish, though Charlton's own results are doing little to help them. A 2-2 draw with Gillingham last weekend was a missed opportunity and injuries are beginning to pile up at The Valley, with goalkeeper Rob Elliot and striker Deon Burton both facing time on the sidelines.
VERDICT: Lacking conviction
COLCHESTER UNITED
March has been a fairly costly month for a Colchester team who were a point behind Leeds at one stage. Their results are indicative of the tension being felt at the summit and three successive away defeats have been a major frustration for Aidy Boothroyd. Forthcoming games against Wycombe and Exeter City are key.
VERDICT: Need more consistency
MILLWALL
Back-to-back victories over Charlton Athletic and Leeds United should be all the evidence Millwall's squad need of how attainable automatic promotion is. They gave the impression of a team with the belief and positivity required to see you through the final stages of the season, and only Norwich are in better shape.
VERDICT: The force is with them
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN
With the clubs above them struggling to grasp the nettle and take a firm hold of second, Huddersfield might feel that the 10-point gap between themselves and Leeds is surmountable. Nevertheless, Lee Clark cannot concern himself with that target while his expensively assembled squad sit beneath the play-off positions.
