LEEDS UNITED will face a quick reunion with former Whites duo Chris Wood and Charlie Taylor with the Whites drawn away at Burnley in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Wood completed a move to the Premier League side for £15m plus add-ons on Monday and United will travel to Turf Moor for a tie to be played the week commencing September 18.
Wood is not cup tied as the New Zealand international did not feature in United’s first round win against Port Vale and the 25-year-old came on as a substitute in Burnley’s 2-0 victory at Blackburn Rovers in the second round.
Leeds will also come up against former left back Taylor who also moved to Burnley in the summer.
The Whites booked their place in the third round with Tuesday night’s 5-1 defeat of League Two visitors Newport County at Elland Road in which Kemar Roofe bagged a hat-trick.
Samu Saiz notched a treble in United’s first round tie which resulted in a 4-1 beating of another League Two side in Port Vale, also at Elland Road.
The draw for the third round took place in Beijing at around 4.30am as Thailand-based sponsor Carabao launched their energy drink in China.
