https://theathletic.co.uk/2170677/2020/10/30/premier-league-table-data/Elsewhere, Leeds definitely look a little lucky so far, but their underlying numbers indicate that they are still a very good attacking side. We haven’t had a newly-promoted club rank 10th or higher for goals scored in a season since Norwich City in 2011-12 but, given the evidence so far, Leeds have a good chance to end that streak.
.....
So for some clubs, such as Leeds, the signs are there that this is a team whose league position is a decent reflection of their performances so far this season. Brighton, on the other hand, look great from an underlying point of view but need Ryan to start performing better to turn those performances into points.
....
Considering all of the above, expect this season to get even weirder.
West Ham, Brighton and Villa look solid and, for the most part, have a fully-fit squad at their manager’s disposal.
On the flip side, the likes of the Manchester clubs and Chelsea have all started slowly, and their underlying numbers don’t look great.
