Have to say that for the time being at least this interview has made me totally rethink my recent position on Blackwell. In a nutshell, main points:-
1) made very good points about teams defending against us. Even Palace who'd won their last two playing 4-4-2 suddenly went 4-5-1; others go "9-1-1"
2) obviously still very angry about cardiff. Suggested that he found out certain players didn't have the right attitude for such high pressure games and they have gone... Hulse and Miller maybe??
3)Has talked to Matteo. I'm not convinced that's a good move but we'll see what happens
4) Painfully aware left side is weak and talks of getting players to put pressure on lewis and crainey as and when
5) Suggested both Butler and Gregan will be replaced in time
6) Has sold a lot of players at a profit which may explain some of the more unpopular departures
7) Now club on even keel is planning to bring in players fans will "love" in next 12 months
Argued tactics very convincingly
9) Cresswell injury as bad as Solksjaer's so needs to be nursed back
10) Explained tactics for last season badly affected by loss of Steve Stone
11) Passion for the club/job undeniable
12) When we go up we will not come staright down
13) Pointed to fact other clubs raise their game against Leeds as they did in the 80s when we were down
Very, very well argued interview. Hearing it I have to say Blackwell in at least for the foreseeable.
