Llorente admitted that, after having so many problems last season, he is now aware of his limitations and is in a better position than he was a year ago.
“I think from a physical point of view, I am better than last season,” he told BBC West Yorkshire. “I know my body better and I learned a lot from my injuries last season.
“I know when I can push myself a little bit and know when I’m better to stop and rest to stay fit for the next match. I learned a lot from last season and my principal goal is to stay fit and help the team in more games.”
Leeds supporters will be desperate for Llorente to go on and have an extended run in the team after he showed just how good he is towards the back end of last season.
In his absence last term, the Whites conceded an average of 1.75 goals a game compared to just 0.86 with him in the backline.
With injuries and suspensions to his defensive partners taking their toll this season, it is imperative that Llorente is able to stay fit for the majority of the campaign.
While admitting that the players he has played alongside at Elland Road have different attributes, the Real Madrid academy graduate insisted that it is made by easier by all the players knowing their roles within the team.
“For me, it’s not different,” he claimed. “It’s clear that Pascal [Struijk] has different characteristics to Liam [Cooper] but every player knows their job on the pitch.
“If that’s clear then everything is good.”
