Ikke noe nytt rykte, men BMD følger Gradel nøye..
McDermott - Gradel deal must be right for the Club.
Leeds United boss Brian McDermott says the deal must be right for the club if he is to try and lure former favourite Max Gradel back to the club.
The winger left Leeds for French top-flight side St Etienne in August 2011 after almost two-years at Elland Road.
He was part of the side that won promotion from League One and he scored 18-goals for Leeds in their first season back in the championship, just missing out on a play-off place.
After being a regular in the St Etienne side in his first two seasons with the club, Gradel has struggled with injuries this year and he has made just seven appearances so far this season although he has started their last two games.
Gradel is keen for regular football, as he looks to stake his claim on a place in the Ivory Coast national squad, ahead of next summer`s World Cup finals in Brazil.
McDermott stated recently that he was keeping an eye on Gradel. McDermott spoke about Gradel in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game with Blackburn Rovers on New Year`s Day. "Max Gradel would be a very expensive deal . He did very well at Leeds two-and-a half years ago and you cannot buy a player off the back of what he did back then, that is wrong," McDermott said.
"I have a scout working in France who has seen him play. I have done my homework, I know how many times he has played, come off the bench and scored. I would not just do a deal because he was a former favourite at the club; he needs to be right for the club now.
"I am not saying I am not interested, I need to make sure everything is right because it wouldn`t be a cheap deal."
Gradel made 84 appearances during his spell with Leeds scoring 25 goals
