Men var det ikke denne kampen vår keeper skulle komme tilbake
Har du ikke fått det med deg? Han er ute resten av sesongen.
Ja, særlig.... Det var ingen god spøk. YEP skriver dette:
Leeds United goalkeeper Andy Lonergan has returned to full training after almost two months on the sidelines but manager Simon Grayson is set to keep faith with Alex McCarthy against Millwall.
Lonergan has been absent since breaking a finger during United’s win at Doncaster Rovers in October but he featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Bradford City on Tuesday and is in line to make his first-team comeback later this month.
The former Preston North End keeper was firmly established as Grayson’s first choice prior to his injury but the United boss has since signed McCarthy on a short-term loan from Reading and Northern Ireland international Maik Taylor on a permanent deal.
McCarthy is due to return to Reading next week but the youngster is expected to retaining his starting place for tomorrow’s meeting with Millwall at Elland Road.
Grayson said: “Lonergan played 90 minutes for the reserves on Tuesday so he’s coming along nicely.
“Tomorrow’s probably going to be a little bit too early because he’s been out for a number of weeks.
“While we’ve got the capable hands of Alex and Maik, there’s no need to rush Andy back.
“It’ll be great to have him back and I know he’ll be desperate to get into the team but we’ll take it step by step.â€
Midfielder Mika Vayrynen trained with Leeds’ senior players yesterday having overcome a hernia but he will not be included tomorrow.
Long-term injury victim David Somma also remains on the sidelines, and the fate of centre-back Andy O’Brien is still unclear with United continuing to work towards resolving the defender’s future after his recent fall-out with Grayson.
