Leeds United under-23 player ratings as Sam Dalby fires Carlos Corberan's side to victory over Coventry - Leeds Live
Leeds United (4-1-4-1)
Will Huffer - six
Very little for the club's number-three stopper to do. Commanded his area and defence very well. Voice really carried across a quiet Nethermoor Park. Helpless for the Coventry City goal, which was struck from close range.
Callum Nicell - six
Looked solid enough. Used in the same role Jamie Shackleton has been used as a central midfielder turned right-back. Always keen to offer an option down the flank.
Hugo Diaz - six
Tough to justify any higher rating after with so little for the defenders to do in front of a poor Coventry attack. Calm and composed on the ball. Fell asleep to allow the visitors' only goal.

Pascal Struijk - six
Much the same as Diaz. Did not stand out for good or bad reasons. Was at fault for the Coventry goal.
Laurens De Bock - seven
A promising display from one of those jettisoned from the first team. Has a squad number though, which is more than can be said for some of his senior team-mates.

Conor Shaughnessy - seven
More impressive in the first half than the second. Played in the role Kalvin Phillips has made his own with the first team and played several key passes through to the attackers in the first period. Faded out of the game, no doubt through fatigue, as it wore on. First action since January 30.

Jordan Stevens - seven
A step forward for the former Forest Green Rovers midfielder, who looked out of sorts in the first-team friendlies he played pre-season. Consistently found himself in dangerous positions, cutting in from the right, during the first half. A couple of shots on target saved.
Yosuke Ideguchi - seven
The home of Guiseley AFC must have summed up the no-man's land this Japanese international currently finds himself in. Neither in the first team, nor on his way out of the club for senior football. No evidence of sulking here. Tenacious and driven. A couple of pot-shots, as well as a yellow card, underlined his intent to leave a mark on the game.

Oriol Rey - six
Not up to his usual high standards. Kept possession ticking over, especially in the second half as Coventry tired and backed off. More erratic in his first-half attempts. Some petulance in conversations with the referee.

Jack Clarke - eight
If a less talented player put his head down and went on the kind of mazy, anarchic runs Clarke goes on, it would become very tiresome very quickly. Thankfully this teenager has the ability to do it and cause chaos. On several occasions he put put his head down, hit the turbo button and drilled through the Coventry defence, ball stuck to his feet. Assisted the first goal.
Sam Dalby - eight
As is so often the case with the former Leyton Orient forward, he scores the goals he's supposed to, but with such little fanfare or fuss. Can drift through a game, applying pressure to the centre-backs in possession, without contributing much else until he's there in the six-yard box to finish off attacks. Scored twice, won the game, job done. A shame he wasn't allowed to complete his hat-trick.

Bobby Kamwa (on for Stevens 55min) - seven
Made quite the impression in his 35 minutes on the field. A powerfully-built figure, much like Ronaldo Vieira in size, who is hard to stop when he gets up to speed with the ball at his feet. Whether it was an instruction from Carlos Corberan or not, he insisted on driving inside off the right flank regularly. Quick feet on the edge of the box nearly got him in for a one-on-one opportunity.
Alfie McCalmont
Oliver Sarkic (on for Dalby 61min) - five
Perhaps the little joy Sarkic got out of the Coventry defence should underline the good work done by Dalby. Largely anonymous. Don't recall a shot on goal or a key role in any attack.
