LEEDS UNITED: I'll take loan move says defender
Ben Parker today admitted he would consider a third loan move away from Leeds United if his first-team prospects do not improve.
Parker will make his first competitive appearance of the season in tonight's reserve game between Leeds and Barnsley at Oakwell, and he is ready to take up the chance to play senior football elsewhere should United accept an approach to sign the leftADVERTISEMENT-back temporarily.
The Football League's emergency loan market has opened following the closure of the summer transfer window on September 1, and while Gary McAllister keeps his eyes open for potential additions to his first-team pool, several members of United's wider squad may receive opportunities to head out of Elland Road.
Leeds are understood to be willing to listen to loan bids for Parker, who spent the entire 2006-07 season at Bradford City and finished last term with League Two play-off semi-finalists Darlington, and he will hone his fitness at Barnsley this evening having played in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Doncaster Rovers last week.
Parker said: "It's disappointing that I haven't been involved with the first team, but I learned early on in my career that you get further by keeping your head down and working hard.
"I've never been one to sulk and I won't do that now. Perhaps another loan move would be best for me if I'm not going to be involved here, and if Leeds give me the option then I won't be scared to take it."
