Bra start for Pearce i Wigan....
Pearce left Leeds United in late January where he had been the club captain, but fell out of favour under
Neil Redfearn's management. He had been overtaken in the pecking order by Liam Cooper, Giuseppe Bellusci, and new loanee Sol Bamba.
Despite signing last month Pearce had to wait for his debut, and it was an ideal one, netting the winner against Reading in the first half. As well as scoring, Pearce made six clearances and two interceptions, and blocking one goalbound effort.
He managed to avoid the unfortunate fate of former Leeds teammates Stephen Warnock and Matt Smith, who both this season marked their moves away from the club with red cards on their first starts.
