Her har du helt rett.
He is a left back now though. He just played as a CB before they found out how good he was at LB.
If you look at their fans forums/social media etc, Wober has basically done a Joelinton this season. He's ousted their former captain and LB Ulmer.
Due to Ulmers age/injuries they initially gave Wober a shot at LB (like we did with Struijk), but unlike Struijk he's been so good there that Wober is now their #1 LB. It's now his position.
Their fans are not shouting for a new LB like we are, they have one, him, and they think he's great and is now their captain.
The same way Joelinton spent his entire career as a winger and CF, then Howe had injuries and put him in CM this season, was suprised at how good he was there and the rest is history.
Nobody would call Joelinton a CF or Winger anymore despite playing in that position every year bar this one. He's a CM/AM now.
Nobody would call Phillips an AM anymore. As soon as Bielsa moved him to DM and we saw him vastly improve, he was never going to be an AM again.
The same way Wober is now an LB because he's been so good for Salzburg there.
I suppose people could argue that even though Wober has played almost every game at LB this season, they've only had about 16 games so there's not a lot of data to go on for Wober and that's fair enough.
But then if that's the case, at worst he's done a Ben White this season. Arsenal fans think White is a better LB than CB and he's now immovable there. The same way Wober is immovable there for Salzburg.
Of course this doesn't mean that Wober is a cert to be good for Leeds in the Premier League, time will tell on that one and we won't know until he gets here.
But it's safe to say that he's not some 'makeshift LB' and we're not moving to a back 5 (in general). He'll be getting brought in as our new LB for sure.
