Helder Costa has cleared out his locker at Wolves and bid farewell to his teammates at the club as he heads to Leeds United, Football Insider understands.
The Portugal international, 25, is set to undergo a medical at the Yorkshire giants next day and finalise the terms of a season-long loan from the Premier League club.
Leeds and Wolves are in the advanced stages of agreeing the terms of a deal that, as revealed by Football Insider yesterday, will see the Championship club pay a loan fee of around £2million.
The deal will also include a “solid†option to buy for Leeds as they get first refusal on signing the winger on a permanent transfer should things go well.
Football Insider exclusively broke the news earlier this month that United have made the 25-year-old a priority signing on loan this summer as they concentrate on signing players they believe can end their decade-and-a-half in the Football League.
Costa was in and out of the Wolves starting XI last season after playing a major role in their own promotion the previous season and Nuno Espirito Santo has given the green light for him to go out on loan.
There is now the possibility he has played his last game for the club he joined in the summer of 2016, initially on loan in a deal that was made permanent the following January for £13million.
The winger has scored 19 goals and supplied 19 assists from 109 Wolves appearances, 30 of which came last season.
He has also had spells in France, Spain and Portugal at European big hitters Monaco, Deportivo La Coruna and Benfica.
