Leeds United star faces drink-driving chargeFabian Delph arriving at courtSTAR Leeds United player Fabian Delph has appeared in court charged with drink-driving.
The case was adjourned on Tuesday after a request from the 19-year-old midfielder's solicitors, who said they wanted more time for consideration to be given to the papers, in connection with the matter.
Delph, whose home address is in Bradford, was stopped by police at Richmond Court in Rothwell on December 23 in a Vauxhall Astra car.
The England Under-21 international did not enter a plea to the charge of drink driving, when he appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court.
The teenager was dressed in a dark grey designer suit and grey tie, with a white shirt.
The court heard that two nights before Christmas police stopped him and breathalysed him and allegedly found that he had 66 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, which is almost twice the drink drive limit.
Leeds United fans stopped and asked him for autographs as he was waiting outside the courtroom.
He was joined by two people, thought to be from Leeds United's management team, as well as a solicitor.
Leeds has recently had two offers from premiership teams for the popular player. It is rumoured Manchester United want him for a £6m price tag.
He has come up through the ranks, joining the Leeds United Training Academy at the age of 16 and has had a promising 2008-09 season, scoring a goal against Brighton on Saturday.
Unconditional bail was granted.
Magistrates adjournment the case until Tuesday.
Leeds United have not said what action they may take following the outcome of the case.
