Captain speaking: (han er ikke 'formelt utnevnt' ennå, men jeg kan liksom ikke se noen andre pdd.
I alle fall, kloke ord:
Sol Bamba told Radio Yorkshire that he feels the way the team reacts to a blip in the coming season, will be the true measure of the team spirit in the team.
Bamba is confident that the mood in the dressing room is positive heading into the new season, as manager Uwe Rosler continues his preparations for the first game against Burnley.
It’s going to be a very long and testing year for Leeds but they should be confident that the squad has been improved, which should help the team battle through any difficult patch of results.
“When it comes closer to the season, we want a performance and we want a result – We had quite a difficult week so overall we’re happy with the performance,†he told Radio Yorkshire.
“It’s easy to have a good spirit at the moment but we will see – Every team will have a difficult moment and the way the team reacts is how we will see if the team spirit is good.â€
Leeds will not be happy with finishing in 15th place and there is a real expectation that the club can move forward under Rosler.
However, the manager can’t bear the weight of expectation all on his own and he needs players like Bamba to step forward and show responsibility and leadership during difficult periods.
When Leeds suffer that first defeat, the leaders in the dressing room need to step up to ensure that there are no chins dropping.
There is a real bond between the players at the moment because several of them have grown up together and made their journeys into the first team together and that bond will be very difficult for any team to break.
