"HEAD coach Thomas Christiansen has revealed Leeds United will sign “a few†more players in the “next few days†as the club’s extensive summer recruitment continues.
Dutch International ace Vurnon Anita became the club’s sixth signing of the summer on Thursday, following earlier deals for Felix Wiedwald, Mateusz Klich, Pontus Jansson, Hadi Sacko and Madger Gomes.
And speaking at Thursday evening’s kit launch, Christiansen revealed that further arrivals were imminent over the next few days.
Speaking after the arrival of Anita, Christiansen was asked how close Leeds were to sealing other deals and how many would be arriving and said: “I don’t like to say that, probably Victor (Orta, director of football) will say more.
“But for sure in the next few days we will announce a few players.â€
Leeds remain in discussions about a deal for Huesca number 10 Samuel Saiz, a target who the Whites have been pursuing intensely for the past three weeks.
Saiz has been away in Miami on holiday but will travel home on Sunday with the aim of finally sealing a move to the Whites.
United have also had a look at Saiz’s Huesca team mate Alexander González.
The 24-year-old Venezuelan international is mainly a midfielder but he can also play at right back.
The Whites continue to be linked with a host of other players, including Lugano’s 25-year-old Macedonian international winger Ezgjan Alioski - a player who Leeds are keen on.
Swiss side Basel and Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin are also interested."
