Lees misses out on Accrington Stanley's trip to Leeds United
ACCRINGTON Stanley’s on-loan defender Tom Lees will not be able to face parent club Leeds in Tuesday’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie at Elland Road - regardless of whether he recovers from an Achilles problem in time.
The 19-year-old remains a doubt for Saturday’s League Two trip to Notts County with the injury that has ruled him out of the last two games but he has been refused permission to play against Leeds in any case.
Lees joined Stanley on a temporary deal in September and there is nothing in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy rules or the loan agreement preventing him from playing in the northern semi final.
But the Elland Road club have made it clear that they do not want Lees to play against them, and Stanley risk the right back being recalled if they opt to play him.

Notts County vs. Accrington Stanley 1-2 (0-0)
NC: Lee Hughes pen 82
AS: Michael Symes 60, James Ryan 74

COUNTY SLUMP TO FIRST HOME DEFEAT
Michael Symes and James Ryan secured Accrington's fourth successive win and ended Notts County's unbeaten home record with a 2-1 win.
Symes opened the scoring on the hour-mark, racing on to Tom Lees' through ball to round Kasper Schmeichel for his 12th goal of the season.
And the plucky visitors struck again 14 minutes later with Lees again the provider, his centre allowing Ryan to volley into the roof of the net.
The hosts, who had gone 10 games unbeaten at Meadow Lane, were handed a lifeline eight minutes from time when substitute Matt Ritchie's cross was handled by Lees allowing Hughes to score from the spot.
But as County searched for an equaliser Accrington were awarded a penalty of their own three minutes later, Graeme Lee bringing down Andrew Procter.
Phil Edwards' penalty was saved by Schmeichel to spark a frantic closing finale but despite Karl Hawley and Hughes again coming close, County could not muster an equaliser.

Leeds i dårlig form og Accrington Stanley i kjempeform. Huff, dette går mot tap.....
Oppdatert vurdering: Kampen går på Elland Road, kanskje vi greier uavgjort etter 90 minutter, da ;) ;)

Accrington Stanley look to fan power for Leeds United trip

Accrington Stanley are hoping for a bumper travelling support for tomorrow’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy northern semi final at Leeds United (7.45pm kick-off).
Stanley are just two rounds from Wembley and chief executive Rob Heys said: “It’s a massive game for Accrington Stanley.
“People get carried away with us being in the top half of the league and in the third round of the FA Cup, but this is the one because we’re playing in one of the biggest stadiums in the country and it’s a realistic chance to go to Wembley.
“The support we got down at Barnet in the FA Cup was fantastic and we hope it will be again at Leeds.”
Stanley have already sold more than 300 tickets for the game and they remain on sale along with official travel until midday today.

Kanskje denne:

Casper
Crowe - Bromby - Kisnorbo - White
Prutts - Howson - Doyle - Robbo
Grella - Becchio

Om Naylor (satt vel på benken lørdag), Johnson og Higgs er skadefri og på vei tilbake bør dei få spilletid i denne kampen.

Bates want Bantams in Trophy Area final
Leeds chairman Ken Bates wants his club to meet Bradford City in the two-legged Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Northern Area final.
While Leeds have home advantage against League Two side Accrington Stanley tomorrow night, City travel to take on League One opponents Carlisle.
Bates said: “Accrington’s game against us is their Wembley, but hopefully we will beat them and earn the right to play Carlisle or Bradford.
“Bradford would be nice because it’s a West Yorkshire derby and it would save on travelling expenses for both clubs.”
Goalkeeper Alan Martin has yet to make a first-team appearance for Leeds but he can have an important impact on tomorrow night’s game at Elland Road.
The Scottish Under-21 international played ten games while on loan to Accrington from the start of this season and can help Leeds manager Simon Grayson with inside knowledge.
Martin, 20, was originally due to stay at Accrington until January 1, but was recalled on October 27 to understudy Casper Ankergren as first choice Shane Higgs was injured and Frank Fielding returned to his parent club, Blackburn Rovers.
Martin would have no mixed feelings about passing on information to assist Grayson as the young keeper recently drew criticism from the Lancashire club’s camp for complaining they had no goalkeeping coach.
Since returning to Elland Road, Martin has been an unused substitute eight times but was replaced on the bench at Brentford on Saturday by David Martin, who is no relation and is currently on loan from Liverpool.
Once again, Grayson is expected to make changes as his squad copes with fixture congestion.
Robert Snodgrass is available after serving a one-match suspension, while captain Richard Naylor has recovered from injury and was an unused substitute on Saturday.

SNODGRASS BACK FOR STANLEY CLASH
Leeds winger Robert Snodgrass will return to contention for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie with Accrington following suspension.
The Scot missed the weekend draw at Brentford after reaching five yellow cards for the season, with on-loan Leicester winger Max Gradel starting in his place.
Central defender Patrick Kisnorbo returned to the starting line-up on Saturday after a knee injury, which had forced him to miss the previous four games, but manager Simon Grayson has a number of options in most positions for the Northern Section semi-final.
Jermaine Beckford and Luciano Becchio could be rested, with Mike Grella, on-loan Sam Vokes and Tresor Kandol all vying for a place in the starting line-up.
Richard Naylor, approaching full fitness after a calf injury that has kept him out since November, could also return to the side.

Accrington manager John Coleman is unlikely to make many changes to his side.
Stanley recorded their fourth straight win as they beat Notts County 2-1 on Saturday, and they are unbeaten in six games in all.
As a result of their impressive win at Meadow Lane, Coleman is expected to name the same starting XI as his men face Leeds for the first time in the club's history, with the exception of Leeds loanee Tom Lees who has to sit out.
Goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis and defender Johnny Flynn are both eligible to play as part of their loan deals, with Flynn the most likely to replace Lees.
The game is set to come too early for winger Chris Turner who is back in light training following an ankle ligament injury, while Leam Richardson is definitely out with a groin injury. (PA)
