Silvestri på vei bort..?
Leeds United's Italian man could be asked to leave the club .
Goalkeeper Marco Silvestri's place is under threat, according to reports in the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Silvestri, 25, who joined Leeds in summer 2014 from Serie A side Chievo, made 48 appearances for the club last season but it is understood that he could be on the move this summer.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, United are plotting a move to sign a British goalkeeper before the start of the new season.
Rotherham United's Lee Camp, 31, has garnered a substantial amount of Championship experience during his career, and it is understood that he is one of United's targets.
The other player being considered is 33-year-old Lee Grant of Derby County, a man who suffered a bitter defeat in the play-off semi-final at the hands of Hull City last season.
The news comes amid a flurry of speculation regarding Silvestri. In recent days it has become abundantly clear that new head coach Garry Monk will be recruiting a fresh face to don the number one shirt at Elland Road next season.
Silvestri has been United's first-choice between the sticks for the last two seasons, but his better performances have been overshadowed by poor handling and his struggles when tasked with commanding his box.
A return to Italy seems likely for Silvestri, as Leeds have identified Camp and Grant as their main targets due to their far superior amounts of experience in this league.
Leeds do have another goalkeeping alternative already at the club in the form of Ross Turnbull, who has recently recovered from a broken ankle. He is likely to be fit for the start of pre-season training at the end of the month.
Turnbull will most likely be staying at the club and the former Chelsea man's role will be that of an auxiliary goalkeeper, rarely playing but providing cover for United's new number one, whoever that may be.
