Redfearn On Ajose - Big Difference Between Leagues Leeds United first team coach Neil Redfearn says Nicky Ajose is doing well during his loan spell with Crewe Alexandra but there is a big difference between League One and the Championship.
Ajose has netted eight goals in 13 games for the League One side since joining from Championship side Leeds and Redfearn says Ajose is growing in confidence during his spell away from Elland Road.
"He is doing well at that level but there is a big difference between League One and the Championship but that doesn`t mean he isn`t doing well, because he is and he has got ability," Redfearn told BBC Radio Leeds.
"The good thing is, and it happened with Scott Wootton, he went out on loan, found his feet, got some games and he was better for it when he came back in to the side. It was always the intention to bring Scott back but sometimes you just need to put players in a better place so they have confidence through playing games and that is what has happened with Nicky."
The 23-year-old joined Leeds on a three-year deal in the summer from League One side Peterborough United after scoring 17 goals in 45 appearances last season that also saw him take in a loan spell at Swindon Town.
Ajose made four appearances for Leeds in the first few weeks of the season but he hasn`t featured for Leeds since the defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion in the second week of the season.
He joined bottom of the table Crewe on an initial one-month loan deal and he scored three goals in five appearances as Crewe moved off the bottom of the table, picking up eight points including beating league leaders Bristol City. Crewe extended the loan deal until the end of the season in early January and he has carried on where he left off scoring five goals in eight appearances since his return as Crewe have pulled clear of the relegation zone, winning five of their last eight games.
