Leeds United
Leeds had the bulk of their business done before they went on their pre-season tour of Australia in mid-July: right-back Rasmus Kristensen, midfielders Marc Roca, Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson, and winger Luis Sinisterra. They have signed two younger players in Sonny Perkins and Darko Gyabi and handing a one-year deal for Joel Robles, finalised on Monday, gives Jesse Marsch some experience in his goalkeeping ranks.
A forward, though, is what Leeds seem to need more than anything. There is a clamour for a left-back too but Junior Firpo is close to recovering from a pre-season hip injury and the club have not moved on that front, despite indicating in July that they were considering signing competition at his position.
The forward they wanted was Charles De Ketelaere and according to chairman Andrea Radrizzani, they had a £34million deal in place for the Belgian had he chosen them over Italian champions AC Milan.
Charles De Ketelaere
Leeds missed out on De Ketelaere but a forward is still on the cards.
There are other players they have looked at — Arnaud Kalimuendo at Paris Saint-Germain, who is seemingly bound for Rennes, Martin Terrier of that latter French club — and the links to Che Adams of Southampton resurfaced again a fortnight ago. But there is a sense that Leeds are sitting tight and biding their time, undecided yet about whether they will push the boat out and get an extra attacking addition over the line.
In terms of outgoings, most of those who were slated to move on, including Kiko Casilla and Helder Costa, have already gone.
Leeds remain open to approaches for winger Ian Poveda and there is a question mark over the future of Mateusz Klich, though his performance as a substitute against Wolves on Saturday made it clear that the 32-year-old has life in him yet.
