Jabba (http://www.leedsfans.org.uk/leeds/index.html) har lansert en ny 'tjeneste' - Leeds Uniteds' "On this day...".
Underholdende lesning synest jeg. Om ingen skriker høyt i protest, lager jeg en egen tråd og forsøker å poste disse mer eller mindre løpende.

Casper returns
Casper Ankergren became the first signing of the summer as he arrived from Brondby to complete the deal that had been sketched out before he came over on loan last season. He signs on a 3-year deal with the fee undisclosed but believed to be around 300K.

MrK

....så kan en se hvor mange som fortsatt er hos oss - 3 år etter debuten - snakk om gjennomtrekk!

"Molde på topp"

Hørt på Living Room; "where's the cardmachine"?

Rise and shine for Tranmere trip
Police are advising people to turn up early for Saturday's game at
Prenton Park with the Leeds end already sold out. Leeds fans were
reminded that they won't be able to buy tickets for the home end so
should not travel without tickets. Yeah right. Like they'll want a
bunch of ticketless fans ambling around the place for a few hours:
they'll be rounded up and shoved into an empty pen just like the old
days. Serious concerns that this could be another Grimsby (for those
of you without long memories, we trashed the ground and surroundings
on our relegation from the top flight in the early 80s and set the
tone for the reception we received from the local plod at every other
 ground in the country).

More signings
Alan Thompson and Tore Andre Flo have signed initial one-year deals
bringing them "back" to Leeds after their loan/short-term contract
spells with the club last season.

Appeal lost
To the surprise of nobody at all, the FL chairmen voted heftily in
favour of maintaining the 15-point penalty on Leeds. In other news,
not one turkey we spoke to had a word to say in favour of Christmas!

Nicholls cries into beer
(Briefly) former Leeds captain Kevin Nicholls has hit out at Dennis
Wise and Ken Bates, branding them "bullies" and "not very nice men to
work for". Wuss. Nicholls said: "Last season wasn't just the worst
season of my career, it was the worst time of my life. It wasn't a
nice time either for those I care about dearly, my wife, my family,
my two kids." Yeah, must have been hard learning that your
husband/father is a bottle-less quitter. Maybe as club captain he
should have taken it upon himself to stand up to "the bullies" on
behalf of the team rather than attempt to slink out the back door at
 the first opportunity.

Points appeal letter
FL boss Lord Mawhinney's letter to the club chairman ahead of
Thursday's appeal appears in the YEP here
 (http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/leeds-united-news?articleid=30
95145), and the response from Chairman Ken is here
 (http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/leeds-united-news?articleid=30
94962). To save you wading through the latter, the summary is "We
were unlucky and those nasty men from HMRC ganged up on us. Please
take pity on us poor victims of circumstances". Unless Bates
accompanied his letters to the chairmen with photos and details of
where their bodies happen to be buried, I think we've no chance...

Publicity Pete to pen pathetic prose
Peter Ridsdale is working with a Daily Mirror journalist to give a
behind-the-scenes look at what went on at Elland Road during his
tenure. Hmmmm...Ridsdale + Mirror... looks like this one will be
filed under "Fairy Stories" in the library. Can't see this heading
anywhere other than straight to the remainder table - any Leeds fan
won't want to push another penny in Ridsdale's direction, and few
other fans will be remotely interested in anything he has to say.
