Leeds United's clash with Sheffield United selected for Sky Sports coverage.
Sheffield United's short trip to Elland Road on March 16 to face Leeds United will now be shown live on Sky Sports.

The two sides are in the thick of the Championship promotion race and will come to blows in LS11 next month.

The Yorkshire derby is now set for a 12:30pm kick-off in front of the TV cameras.

Leeds United's Championship fixture with Sheffield Wednesday next month has been selected for TV coverage.


The Yorkshire derby with Steve Bruce's side remains on April 13 but will now kick-off at the later time of 17:30 in LS11.

Marcelo Bielsa's side make the trip to Bristol City this weekend in league action before taking on Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Tuesday (8pm) which is also available on Sky Sports.

United's showdown with Sheffield United has also been chosen for TV coverage next Saturday with the Blades visit to Elland Road taking place at 12:30pm.

Leeds United’s Easter Monday game at Brentford has been moved for a Sky Sports broadcast.


In the latest change to United’s schedule, Marcelo Bielsa’s side will kick off at Griffin Park at the later time of 5.15pm on Monday, April 22.

The fixture, at a ground where Leeds last won in 1950, is United’s penultimate away game and could have much riding on it with Bielsa’s squad currently in control of an automatic promotion place.

Leeds are already due to be televised by Sky during the previous weekend, at home to Sheffield Wednesday, and the club have seen 20 of their 46 Championship matches chosen for live broadcast.

Excitement is building around Elland Road as Leeds United edge closer to reaching the Premier League after more than a decade out of the top flight.


And the atmosphere, nerves and passion are sure to heighten with just seven games to go.

Now one Leeds fan has called on the city do its bit to help build the atmosphere in what could be a historic month.

Sammy Kilroy said on Twitter: “The city of Leeds should have a big screen outdoor in a suitable location for the final home game vs Aston Villa for family and friends to build an excellent atmosphere together for this experience after 16 years.

“Should definitely work on this for the fans.”

This Leeds United fan wants a big screen for the club's final home game of the season.

Sammy is clearly buzzing after Leeds beat Millwall at the weekend. He wrote: “Leeds are seven games away from being officially back in the Premier League after 16 years and there’s nothing anybody can do about it.

“Sheffield United are weakening now. Leeds are getting stronger, Roofe is back and Elland Road is buzzing.”

Is he being premature - or planning ahead for something that would be a massive boost - not just to fans, but the whole city?

Leeds face Aston Villa on Saturday April 27, before taking on Ipswich the following week.

Another Leeds fan, going by the handle @BadgingOn, piped up, saying: “Millennium Square would work, that's where they have England games.”

Makes sense, doesn’t it? The atmosphere was incredible during England’s brilliant World Cup run over the summer.

Sammy replied: “There ya go it’s only fair that this is done.

“The occasion is too big for fans and family’s that have supported @LUFC through and through down through the years.

“It’s something they should definitely look into now that the fixture is confirmed as not being changed.”

Two fixtures selected.

Television selections have now been made until Wednesday 2nd October 2019, with two of our fixtures set to be broadcast on Sky Sports.

Our home match against Derby County will now kick off earlier than scheduled, whilst our game with West Bromwich Albion at Elland Road remains unchanged.
