SPILLER: Leigh BrombyHer er litt skryt til Bromby på WACCOE fra QPR-kampen:he was excellent and rarely troubled really. We looked better with him on to be honest as Bruce was getting dicked in the air in the first few minutes. I'm not saying i prefer him to bruce but was obviously his day.
He coped admirably. Couldn't of asked him to play any better
To say he's played 10 minutes at Boro all season, he was terrific. Won everything.
Him and Collins were both excellent. Well done Bromby.
Given that he's barely featured all season I thought he was brilliant. I'd actually quite like to see a Bromby-O'Brien pairing at the back. I just have a hunch it would work nicely.
Did his job very well. Kept their forwards quiet, him and Collins dominated them.
Incidentally, he scored an absolute cracker against the barcodes on Monday. Glad he got a run out today, can't remember him putting in a bad performance either. It's nice when we can bring on Bromby and Sam, both Leeds lads who have been biding their time waiting for the right moment to contribute. They put the work in during training and put pressure on the first eleven every week. It takes a squad to win promotion and ours should be applauded for stepping up when they're needed.
He was very solid. Couldn't have done much better, deserves a start v Portsmouth.
Collins was like lazarus today, simply awesome !
He was. He showed no signs of rust in his first competitive match for some time. Seems to have upped his distribution too, was finding Conolly, Killa and Johnson regularly and not hoofing. Deserves a start against Leicester too maybe?
He took his chance and played well. As an ex Sheff Utd player he may have had added incentive in playing in front of Warnock.
Played well and looked assured when he had something to do which wasn't that often to be honest. Our midfield and fullbacks played very well and didn't let them get near our centre backs too much.
Bruce/O'Brien
Collins/Bromby
We may have found our ideals. I don't rate Bruce and Collins alongside each other, I feel they're both too similiar as CBs to really work well together, where as there's a difference in Bruce/O'Brien and Collins and Bromby.
Both him and Collins kept Hulse and Smith quiet, which isn't easily done so fair play to both of them on a fantastic performance. Only slight criticism is that they sometimes dropped too deep and rather than having one of them try and close Taarabt down, especially when there was only one of them (Hulse/Smith) up front with him, but they kept the clean sheet that we've been missing in recent times, so they've done a fantastic job =]
Huge smile when he came on. Very good to see.
