4 i treverket?

Leeds United's Davide Somma is most efficient scorer in England this term

Who's the player most likely to find the net in England?

Using our unique report generator we’ve come up with a list of the most efficient scorers in England's top two divisions based on average goals per minute.

And our top ten includes six Championship players, some of whom could well be making the step up to top-flight football sooner rather than later.

Only those players who have featured for at least 300 minutes were in contention.

10) Lewis McGugan
Club: Nottingham Forest
Age: 21
Nationality: English
Estimated market value: €500K-1M

Draw specialists Nottingham Forest have had a solid if unspectacular start to the season, lying in mid-table with two wins, seven ties and only one defeat. But in McGugan they have a young man who could help spearhead a promotion campaign – if Forest keep hold of him that is. McGugan is a confident performer who is strong on the ball and possesses bags of skill. An energetic attacking player, Lewis really comes alive in the final third and weighs in with his fair share of goals, and good ones at that. He has excellent close control, bundles of energy and will work very hard trying to create openings. He has found the net four times so far this term, averaging one every 116.8 minutes.

9) Rafael Van Der Vaart
Club: Tottenham
Age: 27
Nationality: Dutch
Estimated market value: €20M-30M

The Dutchman is proving to be yet another shrewd signing by Harry Redknapp. With three league goals already this season, Van Der Vaart is reveling in his role behind the striker/s, and is immensely enjoying reaping the benefits of playing with Peter Crouch. Redknapp might have a headache about his side's balance, but with a goal every 114.3 minutes he can have few complaints about Van Der Vaart's contribution so far. The 27-year-old could well prove to be the Premiership's top-scoring midfielder.

8 ) Jamie Mackie
Club: Queens Park Rangers
Age: 25
Nationality: Scottish
Estimated market value: €1.25M

Mackie has had a sensation start to the Championship season, firing QPR to the top of the table and earning his first call-up to the Scotland squad. Mackie is a hard-working forward, who plays behind Heidar Helguson or as part of a front three, the 25-year-old has scored a staggering eight goals in 10 games – one every 109.8 minutes. Mackie has an excellent  turn of pace and great positional sense.

7) Simeon Jackson
Club: Norwich City
Age: 23
Nationality: Canadian
Estimated market value: €400.000

With three goals in nine games mostly coming on as a substitute for third placed Norwich City , the Jamaica -born Canadian international has certainly made an impact. His has generally been behind Grant Holt and Chris Martin in the pecking order, but started against  Bristol City on Saturday and bagged a brace in a 3-0 win. His first goal for his new club on August 20 broke a goal drought going back to March, but he has so far scored a goal every 100.7 minutes this term.

6) Chris Iwelumo
Club: Burnley FC
Age: 32
Nationality: Scottish
Estimated market value: €500K-1M

Another Scottish striker who is on fire this season. Iwelumo's seven goals have fired Burnley into sixth place as they bid to bounce back to the Premier League. He has scored frequently throughout his career, and has found the net every 100.4 minutes this season before Saturday's draw at Millwall. The big, yet quick striker is a real team player, unselfishly leading the line for his side. Born and bred in Scotland, Iwelumo describes his himself as a “complete nuisance to every other team.”

5) Didier Drogba
Club: Chelsea
Age: 32
Nationality: Ivorian
Estimated market value: €20M-30M

The immense Drogba continued his remarkable form against Arsenal on Sunday, bagging his 13th goal in 13 games against the Gunners. Skillful, powerful with an excellent shot and finishing skills, the Ivorian is a complete forward. Above all, he a consistent goal scorer. A true gem for the Blues, who owe much of their recent success to him. Drogba has started this season with a bang, scoring six goals – one every 99.00 minutes.

4) Jon Parkin
Club: Preston North End
Age: 28
Nationality: English
Estimated market value: €250K-500K

A shining light in a struggling side. Preston might have found themselves lower than their current 20th place were it not for the 28-year-old striker. Parkin is a powerfully-built forward, who is very difficult to mark due to his stocky frame. He is an out-and-out target man who is a constant danger to defenders in the air and thrives on crosses. He holds the ball up well and brings others into play with some deft touches, particularly for such a tall player. Five goals so far this season means he had scored every 97.20 minutes before last weekend's games.

3) Dimitar Berbatov
Club: Manchester United
Age: 29
Nationality: Bulgarian
Estimated market value: €15M-20M

The new-look Bulgarian has been central to Manchester United so far this campaign, and has helped them to second place despite the Reds being short of their best. Berbatov has a beautiful first touch, great vision and is a ruthless finisher. He is playing further forward this year, and it has paid dividends for United. The Bulgarian has bagged six goals so far this year – one every 94.17 minutes.

2) Florent Malouda
Club: Chelsea
Age: 30
Nationality: French
Estimated market value: €10M-15M

One of the best wingers in the world. The Frenchman is a true class act. Has bags of skill and pace, and whether he's flying down the wing and getting in crosses or bursting through the middle, he is a constant threat to the opposition. The Frenchman has scored six goals this season, one every 87.67 minutes, so he's more likely than not to get the Blues a goal in a game.

1) Davide Somma
Club: Leeds United
Age: 25
Nationalities: South African, Italian
Estimated market value: €100K-250K

Leeds are in 10th place in the Championship, but thanks to this man they are only four points off the playoff places. Somma is a tall forward who is fast, smart and holds the ball up well. And the South African of Italian heritage appears to have found some much-needed consistency in front of goal this season. The 25-year-old has scored five times this term, despite playing the first three matches as a substitute. He has an impressive record so far of a goal every 77.80 minutes. And the Elland Road faithful will be hoping Somma continues his fine form so their dream of a return to the top flight becomes closer to a reality.
