LUFC Defender explains injury absence
Leeds United defender Liam Cooper says an hip flexor injury kept him out of the side at Reading on Tuesday night.
The Leeds captain took to Twitter to tell the Leeds fans:
†@LiamCooper Injury feeling a lot better.. I've had a slight tear in my hip flexor, but hopefully be back in no time.. Big game Saturday!!
It is a blow for Cooper who had cemented his place in the side since getting a run in the side since November.
The 23-year-old signed for Leeds in the summer from Chesterfield after impressing against the whites in a pre-season friendly. He made just seven appearances in the first three months of the season but he had started every game since November 4th and he had taken over as Leeds captain from Stephen Warnock at the turn of this year.
Giuseppe Bellusci replaced Cooper in the side in the 2-0 win at Reading as he returned to the side after completing a two-match suspension.
The Italian is just one yellow card away from a further two-match suspension and Leeds head coach Neil Redfearn will hope that the Italian can keep himself out of the referees notebook in the near future.
