Wilkinson hadde nok sagt noen kloke ord i pausen.

Tenk. 34 år siden. Utrolig som tida flyr.

I april 1978 ga Genesis ut "And then they were three", etter min mening kanskje det siste klassiske albumet av progrock-supergruppen.

On this day in 1978, the Genesis LP "...and then there were three..." debuted on the UK Albums Chart at #4 (April 15)
Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett left the band during the mixing stage of their live album "Seconds Out", saying he "needed autonomy", after allegedly becoming increasingly frustrated by the band's lack of interest in his ideas.
This left just Phil Collins, keyboard player Tony Banks, and bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford, hence the album title...
According to Rutherford, the material for "...and then there were three..." was recorded in two weeks, and Banks observed in Melody Make, that recording as a three-member band was an easier and more pleasurable experience than previously, as each member had a more clearly defined role, reducing the risk of personnel clashes throughout the process.
Rutherford later said he was impressed the group wrote "Follow You Follow Me", as they had had difficulty in the past writing songs that worked within a four minute framework.
Collins told Melody Maker how the album may give the impression that Genesis was aiming to become "a singles band" that prioritised commercial success over artistic credibility, but maintained that the new material remained "fundamentally the same".
On the charts, "...and then there were three..." went to #2 in Germany and France, #3 in the UK, #6 in Italy, #7 in Norway, #8 in the Netherlands, #10 in New Zealand, #11 in Canada, #12 in Australia, #14 in the US, #17 in Austria, #22 in Sweden, and #25 in Finland.

Tusen takk Hallgeir.

Brilliant work, Rod :)

Five years ago today we lost LUFC legend Norman Hunter.
'Bites Yer Legs' Hunter played 726 games across a trophy-laden 15-year career at Elland Road, winning two First Division titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup, and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups.
He was also the first-ever winner of the PFA Player of the Year award and was part of the England squad that won the 1966 World Cup.
A true football icon.

53 år siden vår eneste FA-cupseier.

On this day in 1972, Leeds United won the FA Cup.
Don Revie's side beat Arsenal 1-0 in front of 100,000 fans at Wembley.
Allan Clarke scored the winning goal in the 53rd minute, producing a superb diving header from a Mick Jones cross.
It remains the club's only FA Cup triumph to this day.

It also became the band's most successful single worldwide, reaching the top 10 in Ireland, Norway, and West Germany. In the United States, it gave the band their sole appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, reaching number 74 in October 1985.
Release: May 7, 1985
Length: 3:33 (single) / 4:03 (album)

Dette husker vi godt!  :)

On this day in 2010, Leeds United ended three years of pain in League One as they finally gained promotion to the Championship.
In a nail-biting last-game shoot-out for the final automatic promotion spot, Simon Grayson's side came from 1-0 down with 10 men to beat Bristol Rovers 2-1 at Elland Road.
Jermaine Beckford netted the winner in the 63rd minute, with Leeds fans put through an emotional rollercoaster on a crazy afternoon.

15 years ago today, I hit the WORST shot of my life.....and it turned into the BEST assist of my career!!!!!🤣

ON THIS DAY in 1973: Leeds United were robbed of European glory. Referee Christos Michas made several dubious calls in the Cup Winners' Cup final vs. AC Milan—neutrals chanted "cheat" as Milan won 1-0. Michas was later banned, but UEFA refused to overturn the result. #LUFC
