Kamp vs Brighton &HA @Elland Road søndag 17.mai kl 16

Klart for sesongens siste hjemmekamp. Mot et Brighton som kjemper om E-cupspill neste sesong. De har 3-1-1 siste fem (vi har 3-2-0) i serien, men de er uten seier i sine to siste bortkamper.

Egentlig er eg ganske optimist før kamp, men vi er kanskje litt på felgen mht tilgjengelige spillere. Er vel ikke pressekonferanse før fredag men Gudmundssons uttalelser mht  VM-troppen tyder vel ikke på at han blir klar. Kanskje Okafor? Og hva med Struijk, må han kaste inn håndkleet? Seks dager å komme seg på siden mandag da han slet med noe mot slutten... Vi fikk vel ingen tidslinje mht Bogle heller...

Anyways, vi ligger på fjortende men kan fort havne på 17. om vi ikke henter poeng i de to siste. Samtidig er det fem lag foran oss som kan hentes om vi tar seks og de har 'avsluttet sesongen'. Vi henter jo ikke alle men noen kan det være mulig å hente om vi avslutter sterkt. Men altså, i teorien kan vi havne på alt fra 9.-17. slik tabellen er.

Og plasseringene betyr noe. Hver plass på tabellen er verdt ca. 2,6 millioner pund. 17. vs 13. plass innebærer altså over 10 mill. i ren inntekt. Det betyr noe for en klubb som oss.

"I'm expecting a team that is difficult to beat, I think they haven't lost since March in the Premier League," Hurzeler said. "That shows they are in a really good run.

"They have some good individual quality, they play very intense, they changed to a back five so are very compact on one side but also a very active team. I think it's a special atmosphere playing in their stadium. The fans are behind them.

"They achieved something really nice by staying in the league. We expect a tough challenge, tough opponent, but on the other side we go there to try and play our style of football, we go there to dominate the game. That's our challenge."

Leeds have been particularly strong in front of their own, winning 29 of their 44 points at Elland Road. Teams competing with Brighton for Champions League football have left West Yorkshire with a bloody nose and dropped points when not at their best.

Brighton boss praise for Leeds United and Daniel Farke
"We expect a very intense game," Hurzeler explained. "We expect a game of personal duels, winning second balls and having a lot of transition moments. I think it's not fire against fire, it's important we go there and stick to our style of play.

"Our style is to be intense in every moment of the game but also to control the game. Therefore, Leeds have similar things, so regarding our standard we have to be on the highest level.

"We have to control the controllables. We have to have the right mindset, the right approach. We need to go there and reach our limits to challenge Leeds."

Elland Road won't be particularly welcoming for Brighton but Hurzeler will at least receive a warm greeting from his opposite number. Fellow German Daniel Farke has overseen an impressive turnaround at Leeds with few expecting them to be safe with games to spare.

"He's done an unbelievable job, I'm really happy for him," Hurzeler added of his compatriot. "He went through a tough period but showed great reaction.

"The team stuck together, they played some great football games especially in the last weeks. I'm really pleased and happy for him. He's done an incredible job with Leeds."

Brighton will be without key winger Kaoru Mitoma due to a hamstring injury while Adam Webster and Stefanos Tzimas are long-term absentees. Midfielder Diego Gomez and full-back Mats Wieffer could both return.

Da er vi kraftige svekket mot en motstander som passer oss dårlig... Men en ny mulighet for Dan James til å vise seg fram som vingback, kanskje han har mer å by på i rollen enn han viste sist. Da blir det vel Bornauw som eneste endring fra Spurs-kampen, med mindre Longstaff har spilt seg inn i diskusjonen.

My mission is fufilled my job is done any more. All the boxes we wanted to ticked are ticked. It was crucial to steady the ship. Important to reunite the club.Important to work for the long term and the mid term future of the club. For me, it was important to rebuild training ground because it is the engine room of Leeds. We have to produce in our academy. We want to educate for the Premier League. I had lots of support to build this training ground - we have a competitve one. Not finished yet.We ened to develop young players and club values. Did so with Gray, Summerville and Rutter. We had to sell and earned more money than any other club during this period. Crucial to be ambitious.

We wanted to break the curse this season. To do this in this way is probably the biggest achievement. We deserve to play in the PL. Unbeaten vs Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd. Away win at Man Utd for many decades. FA Cup semi-final. Safe with three games to go. Closest to Europe than relegation. This was my biggest motivation. All the boxes are ticked. I will concentrate on the last home game. I want to show my appreciation for our supporters with a good performance. They are the most valuable sset for this club. Then West Ham then will enjoy the summer. The I can look back and be proud of what we achieved. My mission is fulfilled. Important together and sit and speak about new goals. We have to speak about that and the way we want to achieve it. Before I speak about the future, club needs to decide the processes. We will do this internally then we will see what the outcome is.

Pushing for more than survival next season
I am ambitious. We have spoken about our goals how we want to achieve it. Love attacking football and be a manager that plays for something. I want something to play for. I'm not the right choice if it's about maintaning the status quo. I have to be convinced of the project. I'm at my very best when I buy into a project. I'm in a pretty fortunate position. Truth is we had one good PL season in 25 years. This is the second. Important that we don't repeat the same mistakes. You have to develop and evolve and keep going.

My thoughts are the first two years are the most difficult. The gap is becoming bigger and bigger. Second season diffuclt because the rhythm is away. The club has to be on the highest alert for the second season. Next season will be a difficult one.

Farke on future
It comes to the end bc of the project has been fulfilled. You have to set new goals. I know what is possible. Important that we are on the same page. I run the sport but it is important that we are 100% on the same page.

Could leave?
I won't speak about possible outcomes. We will discuss things internally. I'm full of belief and energy but we have to speak about next steps. We have to have another three to five year plan. I won't want to take over a club if I don't think we are going in the right direction.
