World Cup striker Benedict Akwuegbu is training with Leeds United as he looks to earn a move to England. Akwuegbu, who played for Nigeria against England in the 2002 finals in the Far East, is currently on trial at Elland Road.
He has previous experience in Austria, Belgium, China, Germany and Greece, and is now aiming to add English football to his CV.
The 32-year-old was given a chance in Leeds' reserve-team game with Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday, only to be on the end of a 3-0 defeat. Akwuegbu had a couple of openings in the game and will now wait to see if he has impressed Dennis Wise enough to warrant a contract.
Also starting the game was teenage goalkeeper Lee Crockett, who has arrived from Manchester United to help out for the reserves.
