New Don: Tom Elliott
New striker Tom Elliott has already bought into Neal Ardley's ideas for himself and for AFC Wimbledon.
The 24-year-old, who started his career at Leeds, joined the Dons from Cambridge this summer as the Dons look to bolster their firepower.
And he has been mightily impressed with the project Ardley sold him ahead of completing his move to Kingsmeadow.
He said: “I've loved it from the first minute I came here. I've bought into everything he's said and enjoyed every minute so far.
“I was playing down the middle and in the previous games I was on the right and left. The gaffer wants flexibility and rotation.â€
Can AFC Wimbledon mount a play-off challenge this season?
Elliott revealed Ardley wanted him to, not just be a physical presence, but also a player to frighten defenders with his pace.
He added: “He just wants me to penetrate and get at the defenders and use my pace. He wants me to use my presence as well. He's happy for me to do both. He knows what I can do and I trust him.
“I want to get more goals than I did last year and get into double figures. We want a good start to the season and we want to see where that can take us.â€
