Crowd; 5,916 Tin pot ground, tin pot club, tin pot supporters, but who went home as happy as they probably did 36 years ago.
Why does our manager rarely seem to attend post match press conferences ? Why does he leave it to Poyet ? After all I would like some questions answering ?
Why do you persist in selecting the incompetent Kandol ?
Why did you drop Robbie Blake, one of the two most likely players to net a goal for United ?
Why did you take Healy off ? Colchester kept their star striker on, Jamie Cureton, also on a fine run of form, and he came up trumps at the end ?
Why not try Rui Marques and Michalik together ?
Why not include Howson in the sixteen after his two goals for the reserves last week ?
Why is our captain a guy whose discipline is diabolical (fifteen bookings) ? (I suppose he takes after the manager) Douglas isn't a dirty player, he mistimes challenges that result in bookings purely due to ineptitude (and yes I know he gives 100%)
Why isn't Gary Kel.....................oh what's the point !
United looked confident at 1-0, and without playing well, looked set for the points. On a disastrous day, two results were totally unexpected and went very much against us. Southend, fresh from a home mauling by Colchester, won at Preston, and Barnsley, who looked in freefall, beat Birmingham. United are now back in the bottom three, and with two very difficult away games to come, victory in our two home games is simply a must. What a pity the visits of Burnley and Ipswich are Category A games, meaning the cheapest ticket price is £26. You would like to think the part-timers who have shelled out their £15 will dig that bit deeper for saturday's "must win" game, but unfortunately we are more likely to see empty spaces in the East and West Stands, as a crowd of 24,000 will probably be as good as it gets. (I hope I am wrong).
