LUFC Murphy close to suspensionLuke Murphy is now just one yellow card away from suspension after picking up his fourth yellow card of the season at Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
Murphy was shown the yellow card late in the game for a poor foul on Rovers winger Mark Duffy.
The Leeds midfielder must now avoid picking up a yellow card in the final three games of 2013 to avoid an automatic one-match ban under the totting up procedure.
Stephen Warnock is the only other player just one booking away from suspension. Warnock hasn`t played since the beginning of November and the resurgent Danny Pugh is keeping him out of the side.
Pugh is quickly catching up. The left back picked up his third yellow card in six games on Saturday since returning to the side following an injury to Warnock.
Players picking up five yellow cards before the turn of the year will serve an automatic one-match suspension. The next suspension will be for ten yellow cards on or before April 5th.
Leeds have one of the best disciplinary records in the championship this season having picked up 25 yellow cards and 1 red (Warnock v Reading). Only three clubs have a better disciplinary record with only Queens Park Rangers (24y-0r), Ipswich Town (23y-1r) and Leicester City (24y-1r) having better records.
Nottingham Forest have picked up the most yellow cards this season having amassed whilst Blackpool have picked up 8 red cards, five of those coming in the first two games of this month.
