Av skrytevideoene å dømme ser Tarik ut som en skikkelig fighter. Veldig mange godt timede sklitaklinger som illustrerer det som skrives om evnen til å lese spillet og gjøre raske vurderinger. Men ut fra spillestilen ser han ut som en type som sanker en del kort - mye fart og kraft og da skal du treffe rent for ikke å ryke i dusjen.


Han ser ut som en som passer bra inn i et lag som skal tørre å stå høyt, fremstår mer som en venstrebeint Rodon enn en ny Struijk. Kanskje denne typen forsvarer gir oss nye muligheter offensivt, både gjennom en dristigere backlinje og litt andre muligheter for midtbanerollene. Dette kan bli bra!

Kan nok stemme. Har ikke sjekket historien hans, men ble vel utvist i VM i hvert fall.

Anton Stach's cameraman and project presentation - Tarik Muharemovic on first weeks at Leeds United

Tarim Muharemovic spoke to Leeds Live and other reporters after his over-head kick against Ausgburg on Saturday

A well-spoken and warm character, Tarik Muharemovic has had quite the first few weeks at Leeds United.

Since joining up with the squad in America while on tour, the Bosnian put in a scintillating first outing against Sunderland and has already played against Liverpool and Manchester United. And then came his over-head kick against Augsburg.

"I don't even know. I just jumped, I just tried," man of the match Muharemovic told reporters of his effort after the 4-0 win at Elland Road. "Thank God it went how it went. First goal, at home especially, is a special moment."

On the pitch, his acclimatisation to his new teammates has been clear to see. But has also bedded in well with his new friends off it. One of those he has immediately clicked with is Anton Stach, whose social media exploits appear to go before him.

Muharemovic was asked to be the YouTube cameraman as Stach went around the streets of New York to ask women, unaware of who the pair were, to rate the looks of an old photograph of the defender - and other teammates - on a scale of 1 to 10. The feedback was often brutal.

"It was funny!" beamed Muharemovic, reflecting on the humorous nature of the video, also explaining that he and Stach - who converse in German - spoke almost "every day" on tour.

"I knew already he's a bit outside football with social media, so I was like, I'm gonna be a part of this. So I was the cameraman and it was nice."

Another player whom he has formed an instant bond with is Jaka Bijol. Daniel Farke has his Welsh warriors in Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon (or is it 'Joe Salah'?) but he also now has his Balkan brutes in Muharemovic and Bijol.

The pair were both born in Slovenia but Muharemovic represents Bosnia & Herzegovina internationally, through his parents' lineage. It is ironic that his first goal for his country came against Bijol's Slovenia last year.

Bijol has said Muharemovic has brought him added "warmth" to the squad due to their similar backgrounds and the ability to speak the same language. Asked if he felt the same way, Muharemovic replied: "Yeah, 100%. When I saw that I'm gonna sign, I knew that Jaka is here.

"It's also easier for me because having a Balkan friend here is also really important for me, who talks my language, who has my mentality. It's really good. He's a special guy.

"He was also with me from the first day, helping me out. Whenever I need something, he's there for me.

"And I'm just also thankful for him and especially we know what a player he is and I think we can show the Balkan mentality together."

Muharemovic is well-clued up on Leeds. He was already aware of the rampant support from fans having watched Noah Okafor's first interview after signing for Leeds last summer.

In that video, Okafor explains how he was taken aback by how many Leeds supporters were in the Aviva Stadium when he came up against the Whites in Dublin while still at AC Milan.

"This was exactly the same [for me] since then," said Muharemovic, who seemed to reference Croke Park. "I was shocked, and just amazing to play in such a stadium with such fans."

The support was one reason why Muharemovic was so eager to join Leeds - but also the project that the 49ers laid out to him. "The club showed really, really big interest and that's what I loved," he added.

"Especially when they showed me a whole project, a whole presentation, how this club is, the history of the club, and what the plans are for the club. So I mean, what better can you have?"

The 23-year-old says he "just can't wait for the first home game" against Brentford. Farke is acutely aware that Muharemovic may need a period of adaptation given this is only his second-ever top-flight season and, of course, his first in England.

The player himself knows he will be tested but backs himself to succeed. "I mean, we all know it's the best and the hardest league in the world," he said of the Premier League.

"So I'm ready. I know it's gonna be tough, it's gonna be hard, but I'm born for that. Now I just want to fight with my teammates, with the whole club, to achieve our goals."

Muharemovic is pleased with how pre-season has gone overall, branding his first few weeks at the club as "amazing". He added: "It's really special how they welcomed me first of all.

"And then how we train, really work hard every day. We know what to expect, and we just want to show our qualities to be, to show our best sides, and we go step-by-step to achieve our goals."

He also has a message for the fans: "First of all, thank you to everyone for the messages, for the warm welcoming in America, and here also. Let's march on together and hold onto that good luck for the season."
