Yeovil Town duo fit for Leeds United clash
YEOVIL Town midfielders Marc Bircham and Anthony Barry are both available for selection for tomorrow night's Coca-Cola League One clash with Leeds United.
Bircham and Barry have both needed treatment this week for minor knee injuries.
But the club's physio Jim Joyce, speaking today to Yeovil's official website, said: "They are both available for selection."

SOLD OUT!

YEOVIL Town officials have just announced that tomorrow night's Coca-Cola League One clash with Leeds United has sold out.
The all-ticket clash will mean a full house at Huish Park and anyone without a ticket are urged not to bother attending.
The game, for those fans with tickets, kicks-off at 7.45pm and supporters are urged to arrive early in order to ease the obvious congestion.

Yeovil the focus, not tribunal

GARY McALLISTER is refusing to be drawn into the guessing games surrounding Leeds United's points appeal as his players tonight look to cement their place in the play-offs.
The Elland Road club are still waiting to hear the outcome of the arbitration hearing into the 15-point deduction imposed by the Football League on the eve of the season.
A three-man independent panel spent four days listening to submissions from both sides and have promised to make a decision by next Thursday at the very latest.
Should Leeds win their case, the ramifications for the League One promotion race are huge with the return of the 15 points meaning McAllister's side would immediately leapfrog over four clubs and be promoted.
So important is the arbitration panel's decision that rumour and counter-rumour have been doing the rounds all week with some taking the League's refusal to hand over the League One trophy to Swansea City this weekend as a sign that Leeds will win the points back.
McAllister, however, refuses to try to second-guess what the verdict will be and has called on his players to focus instead on sealing sixth place tonight with a win at Yeovil Town.
The United manager said: "I wouldn't read anything into the fact Swansea won't be given the trophy until after the decision.
"I have got to say we have always budgeted for zero, so we will just crack on and get into the play-offs without needing any points.
"It is very bizarre how long it has taken to sort it and with that in mind, I still think it will be strange if we get 15 points back.
"But the facts are it is in the hands of the arbitrators. The focus is purely on Yeovil. It would be a big plus to have the pressure off going into the last game (at home to Gillingham a week tomorrow)."
Leeds flew down to the West Country yesterday knowing that victory on the club's first visit to Huish Park will guarantee a play-off place.
McAllister added: "It would be great. Right from the word go, I have had it in my mind that we won't get any points (back) so it would be great to have achieved the first aim â€" getting into the play-offs. Then, it is a case of 'may the best team win'.
"I don't think we can look at the final two games tactically and try to choose where we finish. Let's just get two wins and let the others worry where they finish.
"Our focus is on Yeovil. Russell (Slade, Yeovil manager) is an experienced campaigner and they are safe. The result last week (winning 2-1 at Swansea) got them in a nice position. But it will not be a case of them not having anything to play for. Leeds are coming to town so I expect the usual sort of fervour."
McAllister welcomes Jonathan Douglas back from suspension tonight and is further boosted by Rui Marques having shaken off a niggling injury.
However, top scorer Jermaine Beckford could again be missing with the United manager determined not to take any risks ahead of his side's potential involvement in the play-offs.
One man who is free to play against Yeovil is Casper Ankergren after the goalkeeper this week escaped with a fine rather than a suspension after pleading guilty to a misconduct charge.
The Dane had thrown a lighter into the crowd after United's 1-0 win at Swindon Town in February and McAllister said: "It was a plus that Casper didn't get a ban.
"An old team-mate of mine (Jamie Carragher) got a three-game ban for throwing a coin back into the crowd at Highbury a few years ago so I was expecting the worst.
"It was nice to get some good news from London for a change because Casper is an experienced player and if it had been three games, it would have dragged over into the play-offs."
Leeds's final home game against Gillingham will be watched by the Football League's biggest crowd of the season after all tickets in the home areas sold out.

Last six games: Yeovil Town WLDLLW, Leeds United WDWWLW.
Referee: K Stroud (Hampshire)
Last time: Never met.

Yeovil Town boss looks forward to a "fantastic game" with Leeds United

YEOVIL Town boss Russell Slade has described tonight's sell-out Huish Park clash with Leeds United as a "fantastic game" for the Glovers to conclude their home campaign in the 2007-08 season.
Slade, speaking to the BBC yesterday, has been delighted with his players following a good week of training after the anxiety of possible relegation was expelled from their minds following last week's excellent 2-1 victory at Swansea City.
And now he cannot wait for tonight's 7.45pm kick-off when Leeds United, who only seven years ago were playing in the semi-finals of the Champions League, are the visitors to a packed Huish Park for a League One fixture.
"The players have trained with a smile on their face and the anxiety has been lifted from their shoulders and that's nice to see," he said.
"They deserve that as they worked exceptionally hard against Swansea."
And Slade said: "The Leeds match is going to be a fantastic game to finish with - it's a full house and it's going to be packed.
"It's a night game and that sometimes gives an extra feeling to the atmosphere so we're always looking forward to it.
"Particularly for our players, who may not always get the opportunity to play the likes of Leeds United."
The match is all-ticket for supporters which means that anybody without a ticket will not be allowed entry to the ground.
And club officials announced yesterday that the game is SOLD OUT.

United striker may sit out Yeovil clash

Gary McAllister will leave Jermaine Beckford on the sidelines for the third successive game tonight if doubts persist over the Leeds United striker's ankle injury.
Beckford, who missed the clashes with Huddersfield Town and Millwall, will not be risked against Yeovil this evening with Leeds on the verge of qualifying for the League One play-offs.
Anthony Elding partnered Dougie Freedman up front at the New DADVERTISEMENTen last Saturday and may start ahead of Tresor Kandol at Huish Park, though McAllister hinted that he would also consider a change from his favoured 4-4-2 formation should Beckford fail to recover. McAllister said: "Jermaine's still a bit sore and we'll keep the treatment going. I need a 100-per-cent Jermaine.
"Tresor and Anthony have both had a chance since he dropped out and we've got other options with the shape we can go with.
"As much as we'll miss him, we've got plenty of back-up."
The Leeds boss has a host of midfielders available with Jonathan Douglas free to return to the squad this evening after serving a one-match ban for the 2-0 win over Millwall.
The Republic of Ireland international was punished for the red card he received at Huddersfield but will compete with David Prutton and Andrew Hughes for a place in McAllister's competitive midfield.
A minor niggle which Paul Huntington was carrying last week has cleared up so McAllister's defence is likely to be unchanged. Goalkeeper Casper Ankergren is available having avoided a suspension at a Football Association disciplinary hearing on Wednesday.
Club captain Alan Thompson (calf) has returned to training but is unlikely to be included.

United (from): Ankergren, Kenton, Richardson, Michalik, Marques, Huntington, Sheehan, Kilkenny, Prutton, Howson, Johnson, Hughes, Douglas, Sweeney, Carole, Sorsa, Beckford, Freedman, Kandol, Elding, Lucas.

Sannsynlig lag (4-4-2): Ankergren - Richardson, Michalik, Huntington, Sheehan - Prutton, Kilkenny, Howson, Johnson - Freedman, Beckford (Elding).

Gary McAllister's men head for Yeovil Town on Friday night aiming to secure a place in the end of season Play-Offs.

A victory will ensure that United cannot be caught by seventh-placed Brighton, and qualification alone will represent a major milestone for a team that started the season with a 15-point handicap.

That, of course, could change over the course of the next week with a decision expected by May 1, following the arbitration hearing, when a favourable outcome would propel United into the automatic promotion slots.

But the manager has repeatedly stressed that he is taking things game by game - and he is full of praise for his players going into the Yeovil clash.

"You can't win games without having good players, and we want them to go on and get a bit of glory," he said.

"They had a big handicap at the start. They got themselves back in it, lost the coach and lost the manager, but kept their heads and got on with it. I like that.

"It's in our hands now. No one is dictating to us. It's not as simple as it sounds - but if we go to Yeovil and win we'll get in play-offs.

"They lost 3-0 in their last home game against Crewe, but then go and surprise everyone and win at Swansea.

"We know it will be tough, but our preparation is right. We're doing everything a Premiership club would do. We flew down, rested, and we'll be ready.

"These are the things that try and help you get a result. We try to be as professional as we can."
Casper Ankergren

The main injury doubt for the club's first ever trip to Huish Park surrounds leading scorer Jermaine Beckford, who missed the games against Huddersfield and Millwall with an ankle injury.

"Jermaine's still  a bit sore," said the boss. "But we'll continue with intensive treatment and give him up to the last minute.

"We won't take any chances. We're coming up to a big part of the season, and we need him to be physically right."

United are boosted by the availability of goalkeeper Casper Ankergren after the Dane escaped a ban at an FA disciplinary hearing this week. Casper was charged following a missile throwing incident at the end of the 1-0 win at Swindon in March.

"I think we're a wee bit fortunate," said the United boss. "An old team-mate of mine at Liverpool got three games following an incident at Arsenal once.

"But Casper held his hand up, he has a clean record and he was getting pelted by coins and lighters."

Jonathan Douglas is available again after suspension and is in the squad.

Mitt tips :

                                                            Ankergren

Richardson                            Huntington                        Michalik                    Sheehan

                                                             Douglas

Kilkeny                               Prutton                              Howson                    Johnson

                                                          Freedman

Ankers - Kenton, Michalik, Huntington, Sheehan - Prutton, Howson, Douglas, Johnson - Elding, Freedman

Elding spiller hvis Beckford ikke er 100% fit.

Blir uavgjort i kveld...dessverre...
