just got home and what a night that was! some frustrating football and some great fighting spirit. thought it might have been one of those nights when that pen went in, but we showed some superb fight and spirit to rally on and win a game that we would have lost last year. heres how i thought the players did:
Higgs - not much to do but he did it well, ed looks assured and kicking is first class
Crowe - caught out of position once or twice but worked hard, good attacking outlet and looks a good solid player.
Hughes - worst player on the park for me, gave away posession all too easily and too often, is not a left back.
Kisnorbo - this bloke looks a class above. he is big, strong and can head a ball. reads the game well and looked solid all night.
Marques - looked very assured and played well with Paddy.some vital blocks and clearances.
Snodgrass - looked very poor until a last minute run, gave the ball away a bit too much and didnt look interested at times.
Johnson - had a very good good game for me, tracked back, got stuck in, some good crosses and took his goal well.
Doyle - worked hard and broke their play up well and some good calm passing.
Howson - played the simple game very well tonight. Didnt stand out but played OK.
Becchio - worked his socks off all night long, as usual. Ssome important defensive work early on, won his flick ons and held the ball up well.
Beckford - great early chance saved well by Ince, worked hard tonight, chased things down, was lucky the ref didnt see him kick out at Jones. Missed a glorious chance at 0-0 but scored with a class finish.
Robinson (sub) - looked OK when he came on
Kilkenny (sub) - looked good i thought, took the ball and distributed well, not on for long enough.
Prutton (sub) - no time to make an impact
