McCormack støtter Johnny Giles.. (HITC Sport)
Former Leeds striker Ross McCormack says he wants the best for Leeds, but hints it should be without Massimo Cellino.
Former Leeds United striker Ross McCormack has backed Johnny Giles' controversial view on the goings on at the club.
Owner Massimo Cellino fired head coach Darko Milanic at the weekend, after six games in charge of the club without a win.
Fed up of the constant managerial changes at Leeds, ex-player Johnny Giles is quoted by The Independent as stating he wants a new owner.
He said: "I think the best thing he could do is get out of the club and make way for a new owner who could work in the best interests of the fans.
"It's crazy stuff. I don't know what he expects of the managers. There are no resources to get players in. He wants miracles, I think.
"They have great support and tradition, it's a great set-up, fans pay good money, and then this fella comes in with a few bob and he's making a total mess of it."
Last night, McCormack, sold to Fulham for £11 million in the summer, posted a photo of Giles on his Instagram feed suggesting clearly that he has his backing, stating: "Agree with absolutely everything he said."
It would be easy to dismiss the striker's comments as anger from an ex-player with a gripe against Cellino, who he is very publicly not a fan of, yet he goes onto insist he simply wants what is best for the club.
Cellino has put pressure on himself with a one failed managerial appointment after another, but is making a popular move in handing control to Neil Redfearn.
If he gets rid of the popular academy boss on a whim after a few poor results, the tide of opinion will continue to shift against him.
