Several Clubs Chasing Marlon King

Blues striker Marlon King is attracting interest from Leeds United and several other clubs. The 33 year-old, the club’s top scorer for the last two seasons, is one of four players told they can leave on a free transfer as a cost cutting measure.
King spent time on loan at Elland Road back in 2005 and Leeds boss Brian McDermott is thought to be keen on securing his signature. The transfer window in England opens on 1 July, but clubs can negotiate, and announce, new signings beforehand.
The former Wigan and Coventry man was wanted by Blackpool, then under Ian Holloway’s management, and Wolves, who made a bid in January. Wolves’ interest has cooled after their relegation to league one and change of manager, but several other clubs are considering King, who’s salary is understood be in excess of £15,000 a week.
