Ajose blir for dyr for Swindon, sier manager Mark Cooper.
Swindon Town boss Mark Cooper has played down reports that
he wants to sign Leeds United winger Nicky Ajose, stating a move is beyond thir finances.
Ajose has been told by Leeds that he can actively look for a new club and the former Swindon player was seen talking to robins chairman Lee Power at their game with Bury at Gigg Lane on Saturday afternoon.
"I don`t think (a deal for Ajose can be done)," Cooper has been reported as saying by the Swindon Advertiser .
"We`ve gone down that route and we`ve tried, but it`s far too expensive for us.
"The chairman knows (we need help on the striking front). It`s well documented our financial state, but I`m sure if we can get the right forward at the right price we`ll get it."
Ajose only signed a three-year deal with Leeds last summer and he made just four appearances for Leeds under former Swindon defender David Hockaday before spending most of the season on loan with League One side Crewe Alexandra.
Despite impressing new Leeds head coach Uwe Rosler in the first few weeks of pre-season, he was told that he had no future at Elland Road.
