Tja, i fjor var vi sent ute! Hvorfor ikke være tidlig ute i 2019? Men vi får se hva dom skjer. Må nok ha noe offisielt fra klubben!

The World Game can exclusively reveal the Red Devils will play Leeds at Perth's Optus stadium as well as Perth Glory to kick-start their preparations for the 2019-20 Premier League season.

It’s not only good news for football fans in Western Australia, with Leeds to bring one game to Sydney as they take on Western Sydney Wanderers for the official opening of Western Sydney Stadium in Parramatta.

An official announcement of the fixtures is expected to be made on Wednesday.

It is understood Man United will play two matches in Perth, starting with a clash against Perth Glory on Saturday July 13 before playing long time rivals Leeds on Wednesday July 17.

Both matches are set be played at Optus Stadium, which hosted Chelsea's match against Perth Glory earlier this year.

Leeds' match against the Wanderers is set for July 21, with the fixture to mark the opening of their new Western Sydney Stadium home ground in Parramatta.

Manchester United's tour will be the first time they have played in Australia since August 2013, when they took on the A-League All-Stars in front of a capacity crowd at ANZ Stadium.

Leeds United to head down under and renew rivalry with Manchester United in mouthwatering pre-season clash

Leeds United will clash with arch-rivals Manchester United next summer in a mouthwatering pre-season friendly in Australia, the Elland Road club have announced.

The teams have agreed to meet at Perth’s 60,000-seater Optus Stadium as part of an Australian tour planned by Leeds before the start of the 2019-20 campaign.

Tony Yeboah turns away to celebrate a goal during Leeds United's famous Christmas Eve win over Manchester United at Elland Road in 1995.

The meeting with the Old Trafford side will take place on Wednesday, July 17, the first encounter between two old and bitter adversaries for almost eight years.

Manchester United ran out 3-0 winners at Elland Road during their most recent clash in September 2011, a League Cup third-round tie.

Eighteen months earlier, a goal from Jermaine Beckford handed Leeds a memorable 1-0 FA Cup win at Old Trafford at a time when the Yorkshire club were fighting to escape from League One.

Leeds are preparing to announce further fixtures for the trip to Australia and reports over the weekend said they would play A-League outfit Western Sydney Wanderers four days after their friendly against Manchester United.

The Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia where Leeds United and Manchester United will clash in a pre-season friendly next summer.

The friendlies will form part of an extended training camp at an advanced stage of pre-season, setting Leeds up for their centenary year.

Angus Kinnear, Leeds’ managing director, said: “A lot of hard work behind the scenes has gone into making this possible and I’m sure it will be a great success.

“The trip, including the game against long-standing rivals Manchester United and some more fixtures to be announced, will be a fantastic part of our centenary season and is expected to attract thousands of visitors.”

Kinnear said he hoped up to 5,000 Leeds fans would make the trip for the club’s first ever appearance down under. Tickets will go on sale to season-ticket holders and members on November 27 before being made available to fans registered for pre-sales on November 28. General admission tickets will be available from November 29, with prices starting from £40.

Supporters will be allowed to buy up to 20 tickets in one transaction.

Australia has become an increasingly attractive destination for high-profile English teams, including Chelsea who visited Perth last July.

Liverpool played two summer games against Australian opposition in 2015 while Manchester United travelled there under David Moyes two years earlier.

Media outlets in Australia reported on Saturday that Leeds would meet Western Sydney Wanderers on July 21 in a match which is set to mark the opening of the club’s new stadium in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa was linked with the job of coaching Australia’s national team before agreeing to take charge at Elland Road in June.

Leeds United have finalised a meeting with Western Sydney Wanderers as part of next summer’s pre-season tour of Australia.

The Elland Road club will play the A-League side in Sydney on July 20, three days after their marquee friendly against old rivals Manchester United.

Leeds and Manchester United have agreed to meet in Perth on July 17 in the first clash between the clubs since 2011.

The fixture is the highlight of an extended pre-season training camp which Leeds are putting in place ahead of the start of the 2019-20 campaign.

Leeds will then move on to Eastern Australia to play Western Sydney Wanderers in a game which will mark the opening of Wanderers’ new stadium in Parramatta.

United are considering adding a third fixture to their schedule as they plan for a first visit to Australia since Terry Venables took the club’s squad there in 2002.

Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa said: “I’m pleased we have been given the opportunity to take the team over the Australia to help us prepare for the 2019-20 season.

“To play in the first international sporting event at the new Western Sydney Stadium will be an honour and we are all looking forward to the occasion.”

Last season we had the negotiating with Marcelo, then we had Thorpe Arch to sort out and then bring in players, they then had to adapt to his style and training, if he’s staying he’ll want to sort it out fast knowing all the ground work is done,

That then gives us a lot more time to source players and get them up to speed, we’re in a far better place than we were 12 months ago.

Her er 5 spillere som nok er en del av troppen eller thereabouts denne sommeren:

Leeds United may already have the first-team reinforcements they need to make amends next year - Leeds Live

It’s been a season of disappointment on many fronts for Leeds United.

Many will still be pondering how the club evaded promotion back to the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side were a constant at the top of the Championship, despite a host of injuries which threatened to derail their campaign.

One silver lining was the Argentine boss’s philosophy to throw in a number of academy prospects to ease the issues in the treatment room.

Tyler Roberts, Jack Clarke and Bailey Peacock-Farrell, in particular, all established themselves as first-team regulars this season, with 10 academy graduates making their debuts under Bielsa.

The very latest on Leeds United
The success of the under-23s hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Thorp Arch regarded as one of the hottest beds of talent across English football.

With that in mind, here are five Leeds youngsters who could break into regular first-team appearances next year.

Jamie Shackleton

Shackleton has already made quite the impression, not least on our digital sports writer, Beren Cross.

Tom Lawrence (R) is challenged by Jamie Shackleton during the Championship play-off semi final second leg match between Leeds United and Derby County at Elland Road on May 15, 2019(Image: Alex Livesey/Getty Images)
The all-action midfield man, who can also operate at full-back, particularly caught the eye during the first leg of United's play-off tie with Derby County, replacing Adam Forshaw after 22 minutes.

His performances in those two matches have led fans to hope he could be a more regular fixture in the side.

Overall, he made 21 Championship appearances, but only four of those from the start.

Leeds United news and transfers LIVE: reported Whites January target wants out at Bristol City

After recent performances and a good pre-season, he could be well on his way to vying for a starting berth in August.

Mallik Wilks

Most of United's loan legion are forgotten men, who are simply winding the clock down on their contracts at Elland Road.

Wilks, however, has made a real name for himself in South Yorkshire, after shining on loan at Doncaster Rovers.

Mallik Wilks celebrates after team-mate John Marquis (not pictured) scores his side's third goal of the game during the League One play-off second leg match at The Valley on Friday, May 17, 2019 between Charlton Athletic and Doncaster Rovers(Image: John Walton/PA Wire)
The pacey wide man hit 14 goals and eight assists for Grant McCann’s side as they ended the season sixth in League One, but were beaten on penalties by Charlton Athletic.

After a sterling season, Wilks will want to try his hand at second-tier football. Given United's possible vacancy on the left wing, with Jack Harrison’s loan deal set to expire, could the 20-year-old be the solution to Bielsa’s conundrum?

Mateusz Bogusz

The Polish midfielder, who has been likened to Mateusz Klich, has caught the eye since his January switch to West Yorkshire.

Yoann Barbet profiled as Leeds United linked with versatile Brentford defender

Bogusz, like his fellow countryman, operates in the centre of midfield. He is another youngster who has caught Bielsa’s eye. Here’s what the Argentine had to say about him back in April.

“He's a very young player. He has played only played a few games. You need to do some analysis but analysis cannot be done in some moments," he said.

“As you say, he had a good performance in the last game, but to make conclusions with only these performances from a very young player from his position in the under-23s, so he doesn't have to make any type of analysis of what he was.

“The praise of Mateusz from a public point of view is not helping him and at the same time, he [Carlos Corberan] will never criticise him in this moment.

“So, now he's in a moment in his career where the most important thing he can do is take all the merits he can. That's the important thing for him now.”

Similarly, his fellow countryman Klich has been impressed in training too.

When quizzed on the youngster in April, he said: “Yeah, we talk. When he trains with us I always try to help him.

“It’s not like I can give him any advice because he’s 17 and going to probably be better than me. If he needs anything, I am here for him. I’m very curious about him because he looks like a good player.”

Some praise, indeed.

Robbie Gotts

Another man to break out from the under-23s is Robbie Gotts.

Robbie Gotts. Championship - Leeds United v Blackburn Rovers - Wednesday 26th December 2018 - Elland Road(Image: Alex Dodd/CameraSport)
The Harrogate-born youngster has impressed for the academy side this season, despite being just 19.

Primarily a right-back, Gotts can also play in the centre of midfield. A trait which will only enhance his chances of featuring under Bielsa.

Gotts was the recipient of the Scholar of the Year award at Thorp Arch last campaign. He is yet to make his senior debut at Elland Road, but given the hype, he is certainly one to watch.

How Leeds United loanee Mallik Wilks has reacted to his own play-off heartbreak

Jordan Stevens

Stevens only joined the club in January after sealing a move from Forest Green Rovers, but he is already earning a name for himself.

The 19-year-old is another versatile option. His preferred position is central midfield, but he has appeared for Leeds on the wing this season.

Prior to his move from Rovers, manager Mark Cooper talked up the youngster after he broke into the first team at The New Lawn.

He said: “Jordan is a promising young player who spent time with us in pre-season and now needs to train with the senior squad full time to maximise his development.”

Now in the white of Leeds United, the midfielder is another member of this exciting crop of talent which will be hoping to impress Bielsa during pre-season.

Lover godt dette!
I scored 24 goals helping my side win promotion back to the Premier League aged just 22. Then in my first season in the top flight I had bagged an impressive 15 goals by the end of January. My form earned me an England call-up. Am I a £35m striker? No. I am Michael Ricketts, February 2002.

Sydney Wanderers har allerede begynt oppladningen til Leeds Utd vs Man Utd, og her følger et lite sammendrag av en artikkel om klubben vår, sammendraget utført  av herr Chapman (Moscowhite):

...while West Sydney Wanderers have a 'get to know Leeds' feature on their website and, well, just look at this:
The glory days of the club were undoubtedly between the 1960s and mid-70s under the management of club legend Don Revie.

Leeds implemented a strong youth program through Review, who developed a team that would go down as one of the greatest teams in English football.

The likes of club record holder John Charlton (762 games) as well as Billy Bremmer, Paul Reanay, Norman Hunter, Paul Madeley, and Peter Lormier were all part of Revie's dynasty.

With Revie in charge, Leeds won the first four major trophies in their history.
The 1968 League Cup was the first with Terence Cooper scoring the only goal in a 1-0 triumph over Arsenal at Wembley.
…

I mean, John and Terence might technically be correct for Jack and Terry, but Review? Bremmer? Reanay? Lormier? What even happened here?
Tell me - I've got to know
Tell me - Tell me before I go
Does that flame still burn, does that fire still glow
Or has it died out and melted like the snow
Tell me  Tell me

Her er riktig tråd, RoarG!  ;)

Joda, greit nok det. Men kamper mot 10/7/19 York City (A)
11/7/19 Guiseley AFC (A) etc?

What we learned from Leeds United's first day of pre-season training

The Whites released a video of the players' first day back at Thorp Arch on Monday.

By Beren CrossDigital Sports Writer  14:00, 25 JUN 2019

Leeds United’s squad, in the main, returned to Thorp Arch on Monday for the start of pre-season ahead of 2019/20.

Just five-and-a-half weeks have passed since Derby County ended the Whites’ promotion dreams at Elland Road, but already focus is on the new campaign.

The club released a video compilation of the first day back and here we pick through what we learned from the 100 seconds of footage released.
Which established first-team players are definitely back?
This is the full list of players recorded training with the main group at Thorp Arch:

Bailey Peacock-Farrell
Luke Ayling
Barry Douglas
Adam Forshaw
Liam Cooper
Kemar Roofe
Patrick Bamford
Tyler Roberts
Will Huffer
Stuart Dallas
Kalvin Phillips
Gaetano Berardi
Kiko Casilla
Leif Davis
Jack Clarke
Jordan Stevens
Alfie McCalmont

As head of medicine and performance Rob Price confirmed today, all of the players injured at the end of last term are now fully fit.

Douglas and Forshaw can be seen running with the rest of the group in the video, along with Davis, who had knee surgery in the latter part of 2018/19.

Despite posting social media updates from abroad on Sunday, Bamford and Casilla both made it back to Thorp Arch for the Monday start too.

And, despite all of the transfer speculation about them, Forshaw, Roofe, Phillips, Casilla and Clarke were all present and correct to underline rumours are rumours for a reason and they have work to do until they are told otherwise.

Which senior names were not included in the video footage?

Those not spotted from last season’s squad include:
Ezgjan Alioski
Pontus Jansson
Pablo Hernandez
Mateusz Klich
Jamie Shackleton

The only one of those who did not play international football during the break was Hernandez.
Predictably, none of those players who were sent out on loan last season were seen at Thorp Arch in the video.

What does the footage tell us about the under-23s stepping up?
The under-23 unit was also included in the footage and among those spotted were:
Ryan Edmondson
Robbie Gotts
Kamil Miazek
Pascal Struijk
Mateusz Bogusz
Clarke Oduor
Bryce Hosannah

While Clarke is not much of a surprise, Davis, McCalmont and Stevens were always on the fringes of the first-team unit last term, but are very much in favour on this evidence.

While the above were seen in the blue shirts to separate them from the senior group, these three were in the silver tops of the established pros, hinting at bigger roles for them ahead.

Among the various requests Bielsa made as part of his contract extension, further renovations at the training ground were included.
The swimming pool will be recommissioned, while video analysis of training will step up a level too, however there was some evidence of work around the pitches.
A new running track will be installed at Bielsa’s request and there appeared to be building materials around the edges of one training pitch.

Elsewhere, Roofe posted his own video from inside the changing room at Thorp Arch, which is also due to be changed to replicate those at Elland Road.

All fitness so far
The video consisted entirely of check-ups, fitness tests indoors and loads of running around the pitches.
There was not a football in sight, but it won’t be long before they’re working on shape out there on the pitches.
