I asked Bielsa about Costa's pace being wasted when the team presses so high he has no space to run into. He got animated. #lufc
It seems to me Helder Costa's biggest asset is his speed - do you find with how high you press it's hard to have space behind the defence for Helder to get into?
Yes it's true. It's a good way of reason. But if we don;'t press higher, after we should come back in the pitch. This process will take out a minute of possession for us because when you go back in the pitch you give them possession. And after they recover the ball closer to our goal. So, it's necessary to compare positive and negative things to press high.
So for me I prefer that, but it doesn't mean it's correct, I prefer more possession, being more close to the opponent goal, recover the ball far from our goal, recover the ball close to the opponent goal to all the opposite.
The goal we scored in the last match was how we recover. But after we can find examples for both ways. For the reason I don;'t fall in love with my ideas because I know that I can find examples for the opposite ways I have chosen. But how I function is trying to combine the players. It's difficult to combine with ideas you don't fear. I can't understand it. I can value this idea. I can see the efficient ideas but another idea that I love. Some managers achieve to make the team do something that maybe he doesn't like. I am not this kind of manager. But I know that it's a good thing for a manager to do something that you don't like to resolve the problem in some matches.
But I have an expatiation for it. That combines the players is too difficult but if you say to one group, always this, but in this moment no, after the confidence in what you are doing goes lower a little bit.
