LUFC Defenders - Sell, Release or Keep? After another disappointing season Vital Leeds wants to know who you think should remain at Elland Road next season.
Brian McDermott will announce his retained, released and transfer listed list in the near future and we would like to know, who you want to see released, who we should sell and who you would like to see remain at the club.
Today we assess the defenders who have made at least one first team appearance for the club.
Sam Byram - Two years remaining
After being the player of the year in the previous season, Byram struggled for full fitness throughout the season.
Despite his struggles with injury, he still made 27-appearances for Leeds during the season.
The 20-year-old is in contract at Elland Road until the summer of 2016.
Tom Lees - One year remaining
Lees was the regular partner of Jason Pearce at the heart of the Leeds defence this season making 42-appearances.
The 23-year-old has now made 135 appearances for Leeds in the past three seasons and he has one-year remaining on his current deal.
Jason Pearce - Two years remaining
Pearce was possibly the most consistent defender at the club during the season and he missed just the one-league game as he was present at the birth of his first child.
The 26-year-old still has two years remaining on his current deal.
Lee Peltier - One year remaining
Peltier finished the season on loan at Nottingham Forest after making 27 appearances for Leeds.
The defender still as one-year remaining on his current deal but his loan to Forest looks like he is seen as surplus to requirements.
Danny Pugh - Out of contract
Pugh looked to be heading out of Leeds last summer after finishing the previous season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday. He remained at Leeds and he eventually got his chance in the 4-2 win at Charlton Athletic in November.
He was a consistent performer during the season once he got his chance and he made 21 appearances.
Pugh is out of contract this summer.
Stephen Warnock - One year remaining
Warnock was in and out of the side during the season making 28 appearances.
The 32-year-old still has one-year remaining on his current deal.
Scott Wootton - Two years remaining
Wootton arrived on a three-year deal from Manchester United in August and he scored on his debut in the League Cup win at Doncaster.
The 22-year-old made 23 appearances in his first season with Leeds and he has been used at both right back and in the centre of defence.
Wootton still has two-years remaining on his current deal.
Aidan White - One year remaining
White struggled to break into the side this season under Brian McDermott and he was loaned out to League One side Sheffield United in October before suffering an ankle injury over the festive period.
The 22-year-old eventually returned to the Leeds side in March and he made eight appearances in the final five weeks of the season.
White still has one year remaining on his current deal.
Marius Zaliukas - One year remaining
The Lithuanian international initially arrived on a short-term deal and he looked outstanding in his first two months at Elland Road. He was rewarded with a one-and-a-year deal over the festive period. His form dipped dramatically in the second half of the season and he made just six appearances this year.
Zaliukas still has one-year remaining on his current deal.
