Ny stadion med plass til 2500?

Ser engelske aviser spekulerer i at Leeds flytter, jfr Teamtalk.

Spørsmålet er: Kan det bli verre å være Leeds-supporter?

Vi har ikke sett bunnen ennå. Dette kan bli verre:

1. Ken Bates vil være eier videre.
2. Dennis Wise fortsetter som manager.
3. Vi raser inn i administrasjon, og mister automatisk 10 poeng neste sesong, farvel opprykk.
4. Vi reiser til England og ser Leeds med pubspillere foran 2000 tilskuere.

Når skal dette marerittet ta slutt?

United chairman Ken Bates has moved to dismiss suggestions that the club are in talks about moving away from Elland Road.

The chairman has hit back at a report in Tuesday's Daily Mail, claiming the club were in talks with the council about moving to the South Leeds Stadium.

"We've deliberately not commented on all the rumours that are flying about because they're self-feeding and we've got more important things to do than respond to every bit of nonsense," said the chairman.

"But, in yesterday's issue of the Daily Mail, in Charlie Sale's gossip column, it said we had approached Leeds City Council to play at South Leeds Stadium.

"I rang him yesterday and I asked them to print a withdrawal because it was a pack of lies. He refused to do so, and said he had got his information from a former director.

"I rang him this morning again to say there was no retraction, then he argued saying because we were relegated we didn't need a big ground anyway, and tried to justify all the nonsense. So I said we would have to sue.

"We have issued a writ this morning against the Mail for damages and a retraction - and I want to reassure all Leeds fans that we have no intention of moving anywhere else at all and intend to stay at Elland Road, certainly as long as I am chairman.

"Another allegation made was that we would redevelop Elland Road for property, implying we would make a lot of money out of it.

"It's no secret that we want to redevelop around the edges to give us a seven-day-a-week, 52 weeks a year off-field income, and that's what we intend to do in due course as part of the council's masterplan for the area."

The chairman also confirmed that he is currently investigating other un-founded allegations made about the club this week.

Da er vi sikker på å spille på Elland Road så lenge Bates er i stolen. Må for all del ikke komme inn en ny formann, da blir det rett ut av ER! :-)

Flytting fra ER til knøttstadion? Jeg må si jeg har mer tiltro til en prostituert som hevder å være jomfru enn jeg har til engelske tabloide "media". Kan ikke noen snart ta å sette denne søpla under administrasjon?[}:)]
